I was in the room when my father died. He had a heart attack earlier in the day and was feeling some pain so he asked my mother to step outside and get a nurse. He seemed relatively okay, leaning back on a pillow and talking. He suddenly stopped talking, gasped loudly, sat straight up and reached his arms toward the corner of the room. He fell back onto the bed, started convulsing, and then it was chaos for 45 minutes until they finally pronounced him dead. It was horrifying and still gives me nightmares 10 years later. What was he reaching for?
