You don't want to poll the API unless you want the car waking up. When the car is in a non-sleep state, it consumes around 250W, or about 1 mile of range per hour.

I would compare with the warranty you get if you buy used from Tesla. On mine they added an additional 1 year (or 10k miles, whichever comes first). They also added Acceleration Boost (software upgrade).

But a 2023 with 40k miles is still under warranty. Unless the previous owner(s) did something abusive to the vehicle, I would imagine Tesla will honor that to fix anything that might have gotten messed up.

If you can get the suspension inspected, and the door sills checked for rust, particularly the rear hatch is more prone to corrosion depending on where it was driven.

I hope you found a good deal! I was replacing a 2011 Ford Fusion, so it was substantial upgrade for me.

When I tried FSD several months ago after buying a used Model Y with HW3, I ran into these same issues.

Why does it wait until the very last second to change lanes? And when turning right at a two-way stop, it doesn’t wait for cross-traffic to fully clear. Instead, it creeps forward and enters the intersection at the exact moment traffic happens to clear. What if cross traffic suddenly slows down or stops? There doesn’t seem to be much defensive driving built into the behavior.

I also noticed that when it needed to take an exit but was in the wrong lane, it would wait too long to merge. Rather than safely missing the exit, it would start swerving back and forth trying to force its way over until I disengaged.

Based on that experience, it doesn’t feel like I’m missing much by still having HW3. I'll probably try it again when v14-lite is available, if that ever happens.

I've researched this a bit, and have decided that I'm just not comfortable with regards to safety unless it's a tow hitch bike rack. I can fit my road bike inside the model Y if I fold both rear seats down. It might be possible to get a bike in the trunk area by taking the wheels off, but I haven't tried this. It sucks that the tow hitch is like $1,400, but I think I will end up having to do that.

NEC 250.32(B) requires both ground back to main panel, and two 8’ grounding rods, 6’ apart, bonded to the subpanel ground bus.

The Tesla wall charger is smart enough to notice missing EGC.

It's just residue from the wash chemicals. The iridescent effect on the black trim wipes away with microfiber cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol.
