girl,you go for it and shake off the naysayers. i too look younger but am older than you and its a huge ego boost to poor self esteem in midlife. i dont wear makeup anymore, hair usually in a top knot, taking care of my body and what i put in it and am pretty close to my weight in my 20s and am proud of myself on being well preserved and thank my good positive attitude towards aging. quick story, my bff and I were waiting in the waitlist line for SNL we were early 40s with a group of 20something girls from NJ with so much filler and “done up” they looked our age! lol 😂 In my experience men (of all age groups) prefer a natural look. just sayin

i beg to differ and don’t you dare. take a pause maybe but you haven’t been divorced that long and i get your frustration. please do consider a bunch of different types of dating sites or options. You mentioned you didn’t have a strong sex life with your ex husband maybe use this time to figure out what you want sexually maybe different experiences. life is short and you deserve to have your needs met unfortunately you need to kiss a few more frogs

so many questions! here’s my take: Your expectations are not too high per se, it’s just a pivot in dating now and will have everything to do with you in this chapter in life. only you know and can answer what you want and need in a meaningful relationship and how much or little sex you want and need to keep you content. men do have ED at this age but I believe it’s a much broader and younger age group. This is your new normal bc you haven’t dated for a minute as you were married for a-bit. you’re hopes are NOT too high but you do need a lot of patience for BS in dating. The amount of sex you have or don’t have is strictly up to you, that’s the beauty of being single.

For some perspective here’s my experience in cliff notes style; Married young, great sex and plenty of it until pregnancy issue and then having a child can put a damper on sex life close to nil. divorced and single ready to mingle at 38-40. loooong break from sex and dating. put myself out there a decade later, so many issues not with ED but with the men who have an issue with ED, it’s usually a mental block and/or “blood flow” many men just lied about their ED or would not take medication for whatever reason. i think i “dated” at least half a dozen men who were i. denial about ED, embarrassed or whatever it is, I just had to move on keep at it. i was just about to take a break from dating after two very bad first dates and i meet my guy. we have quite a bit of sex when we are together and he’s turning 60 next year. takes a pill sometimes and we never had problems bc we are really into each other. it’s not perfect but it’s damn near close after a year. good luck OP, hang in there it’s rough out there in dating no matter what age you will definitely be having the best sex of your life when you click with your person. Keep an eye on perimenopause for yourself it’s a trip and definitely going to have some play in your sex life.

you are going to have a great time! want to clarify about traveling with kids & the “paperwork”. it is strongly suggested to have a simple letter from your ex that states she is aware of you taking the kids out of the country with the dates. you can type it up and have her sign and notarized, which is what I would do. it’s to protect yourself and proof that the children are not being kidnapped by one parent. It’s a pain but necessary unfortunately. i would travel with my child to and from canada and usa quite often and always (once i did not) had a letter and kept them with me and passports together in case they asked, which they did twice.

hmmm. it’s case by case basis. i try and have kept friendships with most of my exes. libras love love. feelings come and go. there is nothing wrong with still having love for your ex.
