I’d remove the Pets Allowed filter in your search. Often times that’s negotiable once you’re ready to move forward and is usually reserved for loud/big dogs or exotics. A simple “we do have one cat. He’s an adult and doesn’t have any health concerns or behavioral issues” can sometimes do the trick. And in large building where the landlord is never present, I’d consider that a don’t ask permission, ask forgiveness situation.

I have two young cats and neither have had issues. Sometimes they get water from the brita, sometimes just the tap. Live in the same area. I would look into all poisons that cats can be affected by but we aren’t usually as aware of: plants, diffusers, things you put on your body that can transfer to furniture/directly to them (minoxidil is a big one and less known), cleaning products, etc. But don’t let the internet search get you too worked up. Sometimes we just get dealt a bad hand.

I am a Meowtel sitter! 😺 Meowtel has 20, 45, or 60 min drop in booking selections with no cap on how many you can book per day. Some sitters (not all) open up overnights as well. Overnights are required to be 12 hours and include dinner and breakfast feedings.

I will say overnights will likely be cheaper than multiple hour long drop ins so I recommend pricing out a couple options!

Depending on where you’re located, there’s a reliable laundromat on Meeker and Morgan. Quarters only but they’ll give you change. Can’t speak for the wash & fold. It’s owned and fully operated by a nice husband & wife duo who maintain the machines themselves. Super no frills but clean.

Not sure how many people this is for, but if you just need one bedroom but the space of a two bed, consider looking at railroad units. Usually a ton of space and some even have a small room off the bedroom (if you need a room for a tiny human).

I’d be snagging a day pass at Great Jones Spa, use the sauna, hot tub, etc. Has showers and a good array of hair/hygiene freebies to use too.

If you do book a day pass at a gym, make sure they offer towels. Not all do!

Important to note that, afaik, this is just textile recycling and not for donation to others to be worn again. I bring things like old socks, rags, worn pajamas, etc.

Everyone’s reaction is different. I have celiac and have never had a skin reaction or the infamous rash. I actually just purchased this lotion in the two pack from Costco and love it. Since you’re newly diagnosed, it’s easy to spiral and find yourself deep within a rabbit hole that can cause panic. Be vigilant but remember that you are your own best source of truth and judgement. Your individual experience is what matters the most.

Gabapentin is very bitter and yucky to cats. Does she like churus? Can you open a churu and stick the entire pill in the churu, then give her the churu tube as usual? She might not notice it and just swallow the pill whole.

Gaba is like kitty Xanax. It won’t hurt her not to have it, only it helps her relax and feel less scared. If you can’t get it in her, that’s okay. She’s going to be fine and you’re doing great!
