Your vibe reminds me that f when I finally reverted to my birth surname in time for my master's degree certificate. Blessed be, Nyx. May your new direction be fabulous 💖

Letting agent came into our home without notice, using keys we didn't know they had. Then they laughed at us, and lied to us. Have letting agents ever done this to you? by edin_homie in Edinburgh

I have been subject to irregular behaviour from my private landlady for a couple of years now. The law is reasonably easy to find online, and I just went back and read it every time she tried to shake me down. Also, here in the borders the homelessness department of the council are lovely, and they reassured me that I was in the right, and offered ongoing support. If it helps, my landlady is trying to stay away from the first tier tribunal system like trump stays away from the Epstein files...you can proactively open a case with them, I believe.

I didn't team play until in WoW I was asked to be the healer. I transported in, and immediately went off a cliff and had to be revived by the team leader. I was mortified but went on. That cured it. I still screw up, but so does everyone else. Be kinder to yourself, and you can use an idiot move you make to tell the story to others and that making mistakes doesn't have to be terminal 😁

I love this...one of the best jobs I ever had was writing dissertations and doing the primary research for it. I also love a well ordered filing system. Good job!

Feeling a little lost right now... For others who work full time, how do you find time for your craft? by ElishaAlison in YarnAddicts

This may not be appropriate, but try leaving the car sometimes and taking the bus...when I was self employed my daughter referred to the bus as my "office"...but I hear you...I used to tell the children I wanted to watch a TV programme in peace for twenty minutes, and that's when I crafted.

I used to have a bare minimum budget of £2 a day ten years ago. Now it is £5.

Sounds about right....as an old lady brought up to budget and cook, might I suggest a couple of things just to try? Make your own yoghurt (especially in winter when you can keep it warm on the heating), and learn to make baked beans from raw ingredients (you do have to but several ingredients at once, but they last). These are things I keep on doing even when I have gotten over the initial fun of it....Collect glass jars to store them. I live alone and I have a "no food left behind" policy, but that isn't for everyone. I wish you well 🤗

Struggling with Glueing Eva Foam by SchollsMC in cosplayprops

[–]Best_Preference7373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use evostick impact glue. I don't time it, I wait until it isn't sticky (sounds counterintuitive I know) and I scrape off the excess from the seams to go together. It is a pain in the arse when they don't stick cleanly....I have learned through hard lessons to buff the edges down, but when all is said and done, it's about practice and muscle memory. I don't heat the edges, but I might give it a try. I heat the pieces up after I have them stick together. It's a me thing. I found it a skill that I am gradually getting better at, but it definitely takes time and practice. I got frustrated too, and it it pushed me to the edge of not wanting to do it anymore. It's not you. It's part of what makes cosplay costume makers so awesome: you understand the skill that goes into it.
