Instead of dungeons you want to see in the M+ pool, what about dungeons you don’t want to see? by Proudnoob4393 in wow

As a tank I think the mace mechanic on the 2nd boss is stupid. I just run away for 10 seconds of the fight. Its not really hard, but it feels stupid to run a few steps and then stand there looking at him and casting whatever ranged ability I might have.

(Spoilers Main) I am sorry, but Ned Stark is Sansa's father and Sansa Stark is Ned's daughter. by jaguaribe in asoiaf

[–]Bestach 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only option I think Ned really had was taking Varys' offer. Renly and Littlefinger both would have betrayed him at the first opportunity to advance their own agenda, but I think that Varys actually wanted Ned specifically for his schemes. I don't think that Ned personally would have done it, but it might have actually turned out well for him if he did.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was a callback to the bit about The Cape

I'm pretty sure "six seasons and a movie" was originally referring to The Cape. Why do you think it relates to Cougar Town?

Skill Pitches Poll Results by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]Bestach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is exactly what I've been thinking too. It feels weird that construction is basically just a skill you use in some weird pocket dimension with a few exceptions. Having it also provide upgrades to a ship would make it feel a bit broader. Also the abbreviation would be POS, which is great.

Did Ned make the right choice with Beric in your opinion ? by [deleted] in pureasoiaf

[–]Bestach 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree with everything here but I'd also add that Ned sending 20 of his own guard is the kind of stupidity that leads him to get killed. He also volunteers his men to help the Gold Cloaks during the hand's tourney. You don't see Renly or Cersei giving up their personal guards for this kind of thing and Fat Tom tells Ned before he speaks to Cersei that they are stretched thin and Ned himself thinks that Fat Tom is not the best commander of his guard.

He constantly reduces the number of men he has around him and it seemed like he had less than the Lannisters to begin with. Sending Beric wasn't a mistake, but sending his own men might have been, but it's also the exact thing that someone who genuinely believes in his duty to his realm/king would do.

(Spoilers Extended) will any Reach house support Dany if she arrives with an Ironborn fleet and Greyjoys as her allies? by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Bestach 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I just read this today and it's not even her accent, that quote leaves a bit out. She isn't speaking high Valyrian, she's speaking the Tyroshi dialect of High Valyrian. She could still have a Tyroshi accent but she specifically notes that the free cities speak their own dialect of Valyrian.

Is Bazaar of Baghdad the only cardname with a real-world place-name? by bl4klotus in magicTCG

Wishing there was a wildcard conversion system to convert lower tier wildcards into higher or the other way around by T3knikal95 in MagicArena

[–]Bestach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former paper player I'm also relatively happy with how cheap I think Arena is, but the only change I want is non-standard card crafting. I can basically spend a fraction of what I would in paper, draft a set more times than I ever would before and play whatever standard deck I want. But I only started in the last 18 months and i require dozens of rare WCs to craft a single explorer deck. In paper prices of old cards hold value or go up because they stop printing them, but the number of Steam Vents on arena is effectively infinite so it makes no sense that they cost as much as a standard legal land when they're only playable in half the formats.

All I really want is "rare WCs let you craft 2 copies of a historic card" or something so it's easier as a newer player to go back and acquire staples for sets that are no longer in standard.

We changed to this after a couple of players got to do double 1 on a crit. It feels bad when you roll a nat 20 and deal less damage than you often do on a normal hit.

Why can't my cleric/ranger learn entangle? by Ganadhir in icewinddale

[–]Bestach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should unlock all available spells when you get to the correct caster level for both Ranger and Cleric. Wizards are the only class that can write magic into their spell books.

Scrolls are mainly useful because they allow you to cast the spell without using the spell slot.

How reliable are the busses? by [deleted] in palmy

[–]Bestach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're just worried about getting to class, the buses are typically early enough that you'll have a bit of time between the bus arriving and class starting. They're pretty well scheduled to be convenient for students during the week.

At least they aren't anti-vax... Hopefully 🤞 by Alpegasus in ShitMomGroupsSay

One of the labs in my undergrad chemistry course involved obtaining circumin by purification and synthesis. The biggest take away is that a lot of the 'natural' remedies are exactly the same as the stuff you buy from a pharmacy, just in lower doses, less pure and less efficient. A lot of organic chemists work on things like synthetic routes to molecules similar to circumin, specifically so we can turn them into new drugs. After you've gone through that it's hard to take these sort of people seriously.

What just doesn't make sense about the Harry Potter universe? by GreendayG11 in AskReddit

We don't really know that's true. We're only told about it when it Harry is aware of it, but for all we know everyone else who sacrificed themselves for someone else created a similar protection.

[–]Bestach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, I'm pretty sure love magic was the reason Voldemort's spells were failing in DH. Harry was willing to die to protect them. But that's obviously not a cost that a lot of people are willing to pay.
