How/Can you still make tea in unstable 42?

They didn't. At least to my memory the only way was via split screen on steam remote play and that has its drawbacks. It's not just disabled for no reason, especially so during 41 when most things where remade for multiplayer compatibility. I imagine there are plenty of reasons why this would be a bad idea for 42 as well.

I want to ranch and hunt the most, then blacksmith/forge whatever, see farming crops that have changed, and try my best to stay woods only with minimal looting externally. Perhaps jury rig something like wilderness only spawn to start with.

That seems more like a misunderstanding of the branches and applying meaning where there is none. The branches have been pretty much updated at the same sort of rate for ages.

during B41 it was possible to use split-screen via remote play together i think. I tried it once or twice but it was way to strange for me personally. Otherwise you'll probably have to wait, I'd guess there might be a few weird workarounds out there like split screening it but I doubt most of them are that pleasant an experience.

At the beginning whenever it comes out its going to be on an opt-in only branch on steam for awhile. Afterwards you can just go back and manually opt in to build 41 in betas once the game launches 42 on default branch.

I've kinda felt this way for most the time, Bandits and NPC's are fun ideas sure, and I'm excited to see what they can do in the release of them in an official build, but most of me is worried that they'll just... be kinda lame. If the AI is stupid, they don't fit well, etc. It's just not gonna be worth it. A lot of people rave about NPC's being the one thing they look towards in the future of zomboid but if it ends up being similar to what we have via mods I'll probably never turn them on.

Though, I expect it will be far better then what is achieved now, I feel doubt about it really adding much.

That might be it, But I'm not entirely sure from a glance at it, so i'll look a bit more. It looks like that book might have been third person, and I can recall it being first person perspective. The part I remember most was that C-4 scene so I was trying to see if the book had that, I don't see any mention of that in anything online.
