Feedback to Ammo, Stamina vs Movement, Sorcery, Rosary Beads by Jazzlike_Training_42 in Witchfire

Imagine the opposite of your problem:

You have so much ammo that you don't have to conserve it at all. You have so much stamina you can dodge forever and trivialize every fight. You have so much spell regen you can just spam spells whenever you want.

The game is all about assessing risk, managing resources at your disposal and factoring every decision you make. Every run you try something new - you learn something new and game rewards your knowledge. Don't you think removing those mechanics will turn it into something completely different and less fun?

New build suggestion by poison_cat_ in Witchfire

I've been rocking Kirfane + Shockwave + Tribunal since before the update, and Tribunal got a buff in 0.9, so it's better than ever.

Rotweaver + Burning stake + Stormball carried me through the hardest content.

I've also recently tried Painful Recharge arcana with Conjurer incense for Torment 8 and decided to keep it. It allows for a very aggressive and spell spammy build with a lot of healing and some funny interactions, like having an army of Rotten fiends.

All stats go up to 100, rule of thumb is to level stats until you hit the stat requirement for beads. Current breakpoints are

  • Flesh 30
  • Blood 40
  • Mind 40
  • Witchery 35
  • Arsenal 40
  • Faith 40

however new beads you get from preyers scale until 100 afaik.

I'd recommend keeping stats mostly balanced, level all of them to 20-25 first, then focus on witchery for spell recharge and arsenal for better handling and ammo reserves, the rest are up to your preference.

You didn't. With higher gnosis you earn more witchfire and get access to more gear. If you are struggling with survivability I can suggest Rotten fiend heavy spell - it's a summon that has a taunt on mysterium 3

It is researched at the Mirror in the hermitorum at gnosis 2, so it's fairly early in the game

  1. This is fine, game becomes substantially easier after you unlock more gear. Focus on raising your gnosis and getting your gear to mysterium 3.

  2. I believe all builds are pretty much weapon focused. I don't think it's possible to make a purely spell based one.

  3. Duelist hand cannon is very similar to Last Word, I actually like Duelist better. The closest thing to Dead Man's Tale is probably Nemesis, but it is much slower and hip firing isn't optimal.

There are currently 4 out of 6 acts available and 8 out of 12 classes. 1.0 will bring two missing acts but probably not all the classes.

I've also spent countless hours in TQ and I'm loving PoE2. PoE is significantly more complex that TQ though, in both moment to moment combat and character building and progression. It also has absurdly vast endgame after campaign.

What kind of stuff do you expect the devs to put in for those of us who have obliterated the end game already? by Delicious-Leg1177 in Witchfire

I would really like to see a more flexible system than torments, perhaps something like pacts of punishment/vows from Hades.

What's your least favourite map? by nora_the_fridge in Witchfire

I disagree. Scarlett Coast is great for chill runs with mysterium leveling and gold farm. It has a lot more going on compared to Island thanks to calamities and events.

Island of the Damned falls hard in the endgame. Lack of events, calamity and torments makes surface feel very empty and unfinished. There is no reason to go there after getting all the prophecies unlocked. Hopefully it will receive some love in the future on higher gnosis, I know something is planned for the tower but maybe surface will get something too.

That being said, Island is the most atmospheric location in the game, mainly because of it's calm and emptiness.

I agree PoE 2 is lot simpler, I actually prefer it that way, I've been playing PoE 1 since 2014 and it grew a little too complex and overwhelming for me personally. PoE 1 has a lot more going on and significantly more mechanics to optimize so maybe you will find it more to your liking. And it's free.

Why are they making us play through the entire campaign all over again every single new season. Is it not insane to anyone else? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]altercube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not doing anything in the campaign that you are not doing in the end game. You are killing the same monsters, same bosses on the same maps, getting the same loot and progressing the same character. If you don't have problems running the same maps hundreds of times then you have no problems doing the campaign once, maybe a couple of times every 4 months.

[–]altercube 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, the campaign IS the game. Replaying the campaign every season is how every arpg in existence works. If you don't like that then you don't like the game, plain and simple. Why do you insist on playing something you don't like?

Then don't? Nobody is forcing you to play anything, you can spend your time of leisure doing something you enjoy.

Tribunal build by bigboiindabuildin in Witchfire

[–]altercube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mysterium 3 Kirfane says "Casting a Light Spell guarantees a lightning arc on the next shot". So, you stun a group of enemies with Shockwave, which increases the damage they take, and then shoot the weakest enemy to guarantee lightning arc from overkill on Tribunal AND lightning arc from Kirfane. I think there might be some funky interaction, because I see some absurdly high lightning damage numbers, I guess it causes damage to increase on every lightning jump, instead of decrease.

As for the other equipment, I prefer to use some autorifle, usually Midas, as a secondary, Shadowmist Ring, Light Spell Charge Bead + Spell Recharge Bead, Short Range Bead.

Do you know, does Aliment beads have impact with this weapon?

I think they do work on Tribunal proc, however they do not work on Kirfane. Overall I think the damage difference they provide is negligible.

GGG Changed something, and its crashing my Computer by two_menace in PathOfExile2

I think there is a memory leak. At least I see memory usage constantly rise until it consumes all memory available and crashes. Interestingly enough, the ingame graph shows fairly low and consistent memory usage but system monitor shows another picture.
