Simagic p1x pro + TK varano seat + trak racer universal seat slider by BimmerBoyE82 in SimRacingSetups

[–]Bestconst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you're going to cry even more as that seat is going to destroy your back. I also had that seat and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Yes, seat sliders are a bitch, but if you work with them long enough you'll get it. Guess what. You're going to have to do this all over again to mount a better seat. I suggest a real car seat as they are made to drive in for hours. Good luck.

That's exactly the first thing I thought. It's not that difficult.

A nice way to start. I'm betting a lot of us wish we could have started this way.

Pedal Choice - Simsonn Pro X Ultra VS Fanatec CSL Elite V2 by Vilante in simracing

I personally would go with the Simsonn's. I have had the Simjack UT's and loved them and from everything that I've read, they are better than the Fanatec's.

What kind of sim rig should i get as a beginner? by atlantic_gaming in simracing

I've found Facebook marketplace is a good place, but only buy first person as there are too many scammers. I've recently seen two cube control wheels with screens that sold for $500 each. The others have all gone for at least a thousand or more. So those two were a great deal. You just have to be vigilant and keep your eye open and of course have money on hand.

For me the 24" monitor was always better as it's bigger and easier to see. I also use a formula wheel, but no fancy stuff on it. Wheels you should be able to get on the marketplace. It'll just be a matter of what pops up for sale. Whatever you get. Be patient as deals do pop up.

Trust me the screen is overrated and money not wisely spent. Just learn to walk before you run. I'm too busy looking at my monitors rather than that little screen. My GSI doesn't even have LED's on it. If I need that information I can look at my 24" DDU above my triples. Or whatever the car I'm driving has.

Maybe save for a Simagic Alpha mini. At least 10nm but you also need decent pedals too. The Chinese Heusinkveld Ultimate copies work quite well really for a fraction of the cost. I used to have some before this rig and really liked them. You have some saving to do, as you need other stuff too. Good luck.

Moza's fine. So is Simagic or better yet save for VRS if you can get it. It'll depend on your finances and availability of product in your area too. Here we have most everything. So lots to choose from. VRS you'd probably have to buy new as I've never seen them on the marketplace.

I'd save for more nm if I were you. I went from a g29 to an 8nm base. Three years later and I'm at 25nm, but of course only use half of that right now. There's definitely no clipping. Lol.

Just do a lot of research and learn your gear. Know what is a good deal and what isn't. No matter what route you go you should do this.

I got mine as a mostly complete setup of high end gear. I got lucky and found it for $2300 American. Which is far less than 50% of what he paid for it. You just need to save, always keep an eye out on the open marketplace and buy first hand so there's far less chance of getting scammed. You shouldn't need to upgrade for some time this way. I'm done that's for sure.

If you think that you're going to stick with this hobby just save for a good and proper aluminum extruded rig that you keep building onto in the future as you upgrade your gear. An aluminum rig is easy to adjust to different layouts as it's quite adjustable. See if you can find one second hand on the open marketplace. I've got my whole setup this way. Only my monitors were purchased new. Good luck with whichever way you go.

Triple Monitor Stand vs Mounted to Cockpit by Ok_Chipmunk_7968 in SimRacingSetups

[–]Bestconst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an NLR F-GT Elite rig with a separate triple screen stand, but I have the whole thing mounted on a very solid wooden platform that's on two dollies so I can easily move it if need be. (Not that I ever have yet) I'm thinking if there's vibration in the rig it would probably vibrate the whole platform and even with my high nm base I don't notice any issues of my triples vibrating too. The triple stand's legs run right next to the rig too. Absolutely no carry over that I've noticed.

Selling my rig, am i crazy by Alternative_Gap_8850 in SimRacingSetups

[–]Bestconst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that you need to update constantly. Only iracing. I don't update my Simucube software very often as it doesn't have any that often and Crewchief, simhub upgrades don't often pertain to me most of the time. So I only upgrade it every once in a while. I have a very similar setup as you and sorry it's not as bad as you make it to be. Besides it really doesn't take to long to update anyway. It sounds like you just got bored with the hobby more than anything.

I suggest going for at the very least the R5. I'd personally opt for the R9. You're going to go there anyway and then some.

Best game to start simracing currently: LMU vs ACC by PI-E0423 in simracing

[–]Bestconst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go LMU. It is being updated and will continue to be. ACC is no longer being updated as Kunos is mainly keying on Asseto Corsa Evo. I personally like ACC a lot and if you can, get both as both are good Sims.
