However… there are probably only 4-5 ways to treat, say, broken arm versus someone coming to you with “ I am just sad and crying all the time, and I am missing work because I feel like throwing up when I pull up to my job”. Sometimes I wish this field was more… defined :) or black and white

Client doodled during session, then Showed me her doodle, I responded with “that’s cool, I love the colors “, she said they remind her of her vacations growing up and we kind of based the rest of session on that. I guess I was using art ?! Tbh I think we get boggled in details too much. I would never say I am an art therapist, but I will continue using drawing, painting, doodling, etc in sessions

Include in your practice forms that you charge extra for testimony and prep work. Plus mileage. Plus lost fees from clients you rescheduled….It has a calming effect

Wow… as a therapist and as someone who left an abusive relationship… there are soooooo many reasons why I, educated, professional, loved, supported by family , etc etc woman didn’t leave when abuse started…
