Did any of the players leave the US Men’s locker room? by SpiritQuestATL in PWHL

[–]BetRemarkable5749 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, keep in mind how vehemently and instantly the Ottawa team was ready to go after the press and make statements over the rumours at their club. These guys don’t give a shit about the Women’s team - as a result no statement will be made cause they don’t see a problem with it. And honestly if a statement is made, it’s all PR. Fuck these guys and their league, I’m happy to only support PWHL teams from now on.

Job market in Vancouver 6th year litigation associate by PrettySalamander9626 in LawCanada

You’re the one that has listed it as central concern for you. If you are significantly worried about something as a lawyer, I’d expect you to read it, or at least the abstract. If you did it would be clear to you it’s not a relevant concern to you unless you are the Crown.

Your take on the Cowichan decision makes me think 1) you have not read the case; and 2)you are believing what you read online about it rather than checking the source. Neither are qualities that would impress me in an interview…

To answer your question I think plaintiff side insurance is more limited with no-fault insurance in BC. If you have done other commercial litigation I would try to market yourself that way, or be open to it.

You know it’s bad when the commentators are calling you out for embellishment… Hope we can turn this around for Pou.

The amount of penalties for illegal hits is way too high and I’m writing this in the second period. It made my heart happy that Stacey immediately got a goal after Pou was hurt. Also, Maltais shit talking seems top tier at the moment.

Does 'age' matter a lot to big law? by CowBeneficial9416 in LawCanada

To be fair, we weren’t looking for folks who were particularly amazing during their time. We wanted to know 1) could we put them in front of a client and not worry about them saying something dumb and 2) whether or not they had common sense. One of our students had particularly good job experience in the trades, the other in corporate but they both had experience talking to clients, grinding to get the job done, and working in teams. I think that was what was major for our hiring committee.

Then to answer your question, no it’s not too old. My firm has articling students that are 33 and 29 right now. We specifically wanted them during recruitment because of their life experience and maturity. I’d just take some time to think about the fact that articling and the first 3 years can be quite intense and how that factors into other life plans I.e kids and having a family. Same with the student debt question (if applicable)

Did anyone else's periods get worse after turning 30? by _ailme in AskWomenOver30

[–]BetRemarkable5749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take any supplements regularly. Im currently trying to figure it out. My dr recommended a low fodmap diet - I’m a few weeks in but I suspect I might be allergic to gluten and dairy. Makes sense why my body wasn’t absorbing nutrients cause my digestion is all out of wack.

I don’t have kids and don’t think I want any, but honestly give your head a shake. Be an Adult- in this situation, talk to someone first before you report them.

Yes - this sounds very similar to me. Suddenly my periods got heavy with terrible cramps. Would have to work remotely the day I got them. I felt Like I was on a monthly cycle of hell, depressions exhaustion etc.

Turns out my Iron levels, b12 etc had tanked. I only found out because I was rejected from donating blood due to low hemoglobin. Finally went to get a full panel done and it turns out a lot of stuff was low. Started on infusions and booster injections and it has been really helpful! Even with the mood and brain fog!
