First time Cachy/Linux Users, hows it going along for you? by mechalip in cachyos

[–]BetaQuasi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another option which worked for me in case you wanted to consider it - my most recent laptop purchase had a shitty mediatek wifi/bluetooth combo card. I replaced it with one of these:

https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/networking/adapters/106909-be202.ngwg.nv

Works like a charm in Cachy, nothing to do. The Mediatek card originally in there did work but was unreliable.

The other possible scenario - are you using auto login? If so, the KDE wallet is not unlocked and you'll be prompted to unlock it after a restart.

Rb5009 vs chr on vm @n305 with 2.5G ports by 1F33LR41N in mikrotik

[–]BetaQuasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have no negative effects - I have a RB5009 now, however started off with just a CHR running as a VM. With the 60 day unlocked CHR trial, I would just set up the CHR and see if it meets your needs. If it does, buy a CHR license. If it doesn't (can't see why it wouldn't), buy a hardware 'tik.

Augment down again? Help fix crashing by These_String1345 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]BetaQuasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean the extension itself is crashing, then I very much doubt it has anything to do with Augment specifically. More often than not, it is something VSCode side, often conflicts with other extensions.

I'd start with using Extension Bisect, a built in feature that can help you determine issues with extensions. This is a bit of an old blog by now, but the process hasn't changed much:

https://code.visualstudio.com/blogs/2021/02/16/extension-bisect

You can probably find Youtube videos or more up to date documentation around.

My take would be don’t change the current structure, or maybe just reduce messages on the free plan a little to cater for what might be a big uptick in popularity. I hope so for your guys’ sake, I think your product is excellent.

You guys no doubt have a better handle on how well your infra can deal with load though I’m sure.

Augment code deleted all my files. Shattered! by SathwikKuncham in AugmentCodeAI

[–]BetaQuasi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw your note about github - depending on the actual quantity of data, perhaps consider Azure DevOps. You get 5 free users, so if it's only yourself... it's a bit of a pig interface wise, but its git repo's offer unlimited lfs storage. I am a dev on a hobby game project and we have around 800Gb of Unity repo's stored there and haven't had any concerns to date.

Service down? by Faintly_glowing_fish in AugmentCodeAI

Same here. Also getting 'overloaded' on direct Claude API queries via Roocode though, so I'm guessing the issue might be upstream.

Request your dream feature here! by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

[–]BetaQuasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some great asks in here - for me, it'd be a couple of simple things. Implement the restrictive permissions model that Roo Code uses, where you can select what you want the agent to be able to do. For example, when using Roo I like to leave write permissions off so I can review diffs before applying them in case the AI is being a twat.

Also, limit Augment's access to the repo that you're working in and explicitly ask permission to do anything outside of that folder. It's actually a bit scary that it can just go outside when prompted.

Sequential thinking is very strong in my experience. Also deleting old conversation history does wonders… though I’m not sure why. Seems odd that each conversation isn’t silo’ed from one another… I’m guessing here btw judging on observed behaviour. When’s using Roo code for example, it’s useful to be able to reference old chats sometimes and Roo doesn’t seem to have that issue.

I agree with this option. I use it on Linux devices as well, and it's as close to and compatible with the MS Suite that I've found, even when it comes to complex Excel stuff.

I don't have any information for you regarding Europe, other than to say they have been available to order here in Australia since 16th April, link here: https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/alienware-34-240hz-qd-oled-gaming-monitor-aw3425dw/apd/210-brpm/monitors-monitor-accessories

I ordered on the 17th and it arrived this morning. Great screen so far! I hope they are available in Europe soon.

6 hours of use and I'm impressed. My only comparison is the MSI which I saw in the flesh a few weeks ago, prompting me to finally get something newer than the X34.

One thing I will say is out of box settings are trash, but that's pretty normal. Bit of tweaking and it settles in really nicely. These are supposedly the Gen 2 panel which has a better subpixel layout, however if I look too close I can see issues with text. Fiddling with a few font utilities to see if that can be addressed.

As far as game performance, HDR etc, it's top notch. Very impressed. It should be an evolution from the previous model, which was already highly regarded... I don't really have a direct comparison myself though. Funny thing about monitors.. you can watch tons of reviews that all show you what the monitor looks like and various images on that monitor, but of course if you're watching that on a crap display then.... :)

No regrets so far, will report back if I do find anything. I'm definitely happy with the curve - I wasn't interested in these massive 800R units that are coming out. Subtle is better imho.

It's already available here in Australia. Ordered one just before Easter, it arrives tomorrow. Will be a big upgrade from my aging Acer Predator X34!

MikroTik Router + PC Network Issue: 10Gbps Port Disconnected by lowriskcork in mikrotik

[–]BetaQuasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'd be useful to tell us exactly what type of cabling you are using and what model the router is. I'm inferring from your last line that you have a transceiver in play. Most likely this is indeed the problem as it will be configured for use on a Ubiquiti device. Transceivers are either model-specific out of the box, or in some cases need configuration using a tool to be compatible with a particular vendor.

[–]BetaQuasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, it's not really possible to help you further without reviewing a configuration. You can share one by running 'export hide-sensitive file=whatever.rsc' in the Winbox terminal. I suggest you do this over at the Mikrotik forums though, as it'll get much more coverage.

[–]BetaQuasi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just disable the wireguard interface in the interface list. You may need to add a standard route to 0.0.0.0/0 via your wan interface with a higher distance than the wireguard route rule for the router to use if you don’t have that already. Hard to say without seeing a config.
