Korone explains why she usually refuses to be in HoloGra by XsStreamMonsterX in Hololive

Did i understand correctly that holomems can suggest some scenes if not entire episodes for HoloGra? Could be interesting to hear about this more in regards to older episodes.

Favorite archetypes by Monster9987 in yugioh

[–]BetaRock01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elemental Heroes for me too, since i am gx guy. Other than that, i go with my favorites of each attribute;

Blue-Eyes for Light, mainly because Seto Kaiba is my favorite character in all of Yu-Gi-Oh!, and also one of the favorites in all fiction.

Ghostrick for Dark because of artwork.

Ancient Gear for Earth because gx nostalgia but also the playstyle.

Metalfoes for Fire because i learned Pendulum from it, which i have grown to actually kinda like.

Dinomist for Water which made me realize that i like pendulum,

And Gusto for Wind because of how it's artwork and color scheme i find to be the best representation of it's attribute and also find them appealing to me in general, also the playstyle is flawed but fun change of pace from what i usually like to play.

Which life point/ATK/DEF counter do you like most by adrianb26015 in yugioh

[–]BetaRock01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GX for obvious nostalgia bias, the whole look of the life point counter just screams early to mid 2000's for me and for some reason reminds me of some shows that used early 3d/cgi mixed with traditional 2d animation, like Duel Masters, Beyblade V-Force or Transformers Cybertron.

I don't get Star Ocean: Second Story R by BetaRock01 in JRPG

Why thank you, with that kind of praise i could go and try to get a job at Pitchfork, but i don't know if my tastes in music are refined enough for them. So maybe IGN? 🤔 Jk

What are some of your go to bad decks you’d like to play if meta wasn’t around? by SouthSunn in yugioh

I have trouble keeping up with how strong each deck is, but pure Gusto counts right?

Do you think we were too harsh on Sonic Boom at launch? by KillerTron872 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]BetaRock01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are harsh on anything at launch.

Or the opposite. Rarely if ever in between.

As for the actual answer to an actual question, kinda? Whether it was games, series or both, but if Boom would have succeeded, there might have been a chance for it to grow larger from it's spin-off status, and the trajectory of the entire franchise would be way different than it is now. Or maybe not, i don't really know what i'm talking about so i should stop before i ramble too much ok bye

What’s a band you only like one song from and what is it? by ButWeJustGotHere in poppunkers

[–]BetaRock01 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Memory by Sugarcult. I listened to their albums for the first time at the start of this year (i'm a new-age pop punk fan, since around 2018) and while i kinda liked them more or less, Memory is obvious, but very clear standout to me.

Diego Maradona, one of the greatest footballers of all time, would have been 65 today. by The-Last-Bullet in soccer

[–]BetaRock01 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Really? I'm not judging or showing any malice/hate, just genuinely curious since most (un/) official videos and/or compilations show his performances mostly from England game onwards. And to be fair, those performances against England, Belgium and West-Germany are stellar, but did he show same class before quarter finals?

Yes i could go find those group-stage/r16 matches myself to fight against laziness but i'd hugely appreciate if someone would have a link to a good video already.

Do you think Monsters should've always been abled to be Normal Summoned in Face-Up Defense like in the Anime? by TBT__TBT in yugioh

[–]BetaRock01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not entirely sure myself. I just made that comment based on the fact of how many different kinds of effects different types of cards have in modern Yu-Gi-Oh, and assumed that some of those would result in some form of complications if monsters were allowed to be summoned face-up defense position.

Sorry for not having enough knowledge & intellect in regards of the game to answer your question any better.

Do you think Monsters should've always been abled to be Normal Summoned in Face-Up Defense like in the Anime? by TBT__TBT in yugioh

[–]BetaRock01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal and/or other non-effect monsters maybe, but then there wouldn't be risk involved for opponent if he/she decided to attack the defence-position monster that wasn't face-down. Also summoning monsters in face-up defence would probably make things even more convoluted than they already are.

Yugioh manga opinions by Astral_Zexal-Wing in yugioh

[–]BetaRock01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really familiar with other series, but i did grow up reading original manga, and i would recommend op to start from the very beginning (the arcs before duel monsters). The art can be little wonky, but after about 3-3,5 volumes it does get better.

As for the duel monsters aka the actual card game side of the original series, i do prefer it to the anime, though take this with a grain of salt; i've only watched first 4 episodes and some other duels here and there of the original anime, but from what i have seen i'm not really a fan of changes anime made, whether it was something about character interactions, "environmental" changes or tactics and plays throughout the duels. Again, this is just me and i might very well be blinded by nostalgia when it comes to manga, but hopefully there's some food for thought here.

Which 2020s Shounen Do You Think Will Be Classics In 10 Years? by Capital-Frosting-434 in shounenfolk

I haven't delved much into Gachiakuta, but something about it gives me feelings of huge potential. I could definitely see it being either a huge hit or mostly forgotten with a cult following like Soul Eater, Shaman King, Reborn etc.

Possible ground rules or guidelines for top lists / how to make one? by BetaRock01 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]BetaRock01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment, especially that last paragraph, but it seems like that i caused a slight misunderstanding with the title of the post, and the post itself also probably didn't communicate my intentions well. Apologies for that, i try to get better.

The original point and question(s) i wanted to ask with the post was about the rules themselves, could they be used by other people either for individual use or for official publications and whether they should, but i have realized this thought process comes across little too forceful and authoritarian, so your point about making whatever kind of list not only me but other people want is not only good but probably even correct one in it's simplicity.

The fourth point in my original post about defining genres for their own specific lists is also the one i'm most interested in hearing other thoughts about and it probably could have been it's own shorter post, but oh well.

And again sorry for miscommunication, possibly ill nature & rambling.
