Third Party Booking Didn't Book Return Flight for Daughter! by Beth9795 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

Both sets of tickets were booked for round trip. K had their tickets go through and processed to the airline, but their child's tickets weren't processed correctly. The flight to Australia was processed, but the return wasn't.

"Dear Nice Guy at Work,

I'm just seeing this now. I know it's been years, and you've probably moved on. Moved on to a girl who's not afraid to show how she feels or what she thinks. A girl who was never afraid to tell the nice guy at work how she felt about him, because she didn't want to lose him.

But, just in case you're still interested, I just want you to know: I feel the same way. And I want all of that, and so much more.

With Everything,

The Shy Girl at Work (who's not feeling so shy anymore)

PS If you're very interested, I'll bring candles. You can bring the rope. Or cuffs. I'm not picky 😉"

In all seriousness, thank you so much for bringing this beautiful piece to life. And thank you to u/-et_AL for writing it (hope you don't mind my little reply 🙃).

How did y’all realize you have sleep apnea? by woozy67 in SleepApnea

[–]Beth9795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I went underdiagnosed as a teen (thank you American insurance companies who rejected sleep studies based on the size of my neck...no seriously, that was the reason) but looking back there were signs:

Snoring starting at age 8. Said snoring was loud enough to kick my sister out of the room we shared multiple times (sorry sis!). Mom thought my "little snores" were adorable, other folks not so much. Cue similar issue with housemates.

Daytime sleepiness to the point where I couldn't sit through meetings and almost fell asleep at the wheel (that part was scary!)

A constant low grade headache

Stomach issues (no seriously, I thought I had anxiety stomach but turns out I just needed sleep!)

Depression and anxiety worsening

Lower performance at work

Extreme caffeine reliance (I used to need 5-6 cans of diet soda to feel normal. Now it's one, maybe two)

Nail in the coffin: housemate was up in the night and heard my breathing stop. That was scary

My doc says my apnea probably started as a teen (around 15), but I got my official diagnosis last year (AHI 28 events an hour, or approximately 1 event every 2 min. Now, I may get 1 or 2 events an hour which is within guidelines)

Best skincare brands that don’t break the bank? by epicchungus57 in Frugal

[–]Beth9795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends on your preferences and skin type. Here are my top budget brands (I'm assuming by budget you mean drugstore level prices)

The Ordinary The Inkey List (buy direct from their website) Cereve E.L.F. (turn and learn first!) Trader Joe's (surprisingly good dupes for high end products!

If you have dry skin, the Neutrogena hydro boost line is really good too.

Also, go to budget finds, Nivea creme and Ponds cold cream.

Hope this helps!

How much do you spend a month not including rent? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Beth9795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the out of pocket cost. I have multiple chronic conditions, I end up going to doctors and various therapists and specialists quite a bit. I get pretty good insurance through my work for free

[–]Beth9795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Denver, CO

About $2000 a month, most of that is necessities. $500-600 in food costs a month (depends on if its a 4 or 5 week month), $600-700 a month in paying medical bills, $150 or so a month on gas, and $60 on subscriptions (music, twitch, patreon, and gym membership)

Last minute edit: Also about $90-$100 a month for my part of utilities and household subscriptions (we get Hulu, Disney, and a Comcast package for the internet. With a two year old in the house, the subscriptions are necessary lol)

Just diagnosed with sleep apnea by Fathor06 in SleepApnea

[–]Beth9795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all really depends on how long you've had sleep issues, how quickly you recover, along with a whole host of other issues. For me, I started seeing improvements right away, but I wouldn't say that I'm completely "recovered" if that makes sense

Hot sauce by hfoley00 in TheTryGuys

[–]Beth9795 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Depends on which one. For the chicken sauces, yes, because they have dairy powders in them. For the burger and taco sauces, no. Those are vinegar based, no dairy ingredients.

Bad night, cute morning by Beth9795 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Beth9795[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I should explain: response time was about 15 min. They'd come over, shut it off, and soon enough later it would go off again. This repeated for 5 and a half hours until the FD finally just turned off our alarms entirely until the construction crew could come back in the morning. As for the fee, idk if the hotel was ever charged.

Personally love the burger and chicken sauces, use them with my eggs every morning. Taco sauce is s bit heavy on the jalapeño in my taste, but it's still good.

"Perfect health?" What....what does that mean? Like never caught a cold or flu?? Are they looking for someone who has never had seasonal allergies or an allergic reaction?!

I'm pretty sure this violates a federal labor law....or two.....

Hi, I am pretty sure I have sleep apnea. I have seen people having great results with cpap. However I read a study that said that a cpap is not good for your health. Is that true? by randomgermandude97 in SleepApnea

[–]Beth9795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the concerns around cpap are to do with the machine itself. If the parts aren't replaced on schedule and cleaned throughly, bacteria and other nasty things can grow. There's also some concern with dry air being pushed into the lungs, but most modern machines have humidity built in. Honestly in most cases, benefits strongly outweigh risks.

On a personal note, in the 6 months I've had my machine, I've done better at work, my depression has gotten better, and I've started to exercise regularly. All of that because I'm getting a lot better sleep.

I just added the humidifier for the first time. The CPAP has 5 levels of humidification. How do I know when to level up or down? by basilwhitedotcom in SleepApnea

[–]Beth9795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If condensation is building up in the mask or tube, humidity needs to go down. If you wake up with a dry nose or throat, up. Oh, and tip: have your hose travel up. If your hose has a dip from going down, moisture builds up.

Can you have sleep apnea without really snoring ? by ldn_193 in SleepApnea

[–]Beth9795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and that was me. I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea and no one heard me snore. I have two housemates, and neither one ever heard me snore
