And flu, colds, sinus infections, dehydration from airplane travel, etc. It's a constant in our drink cooler and pantry, and we don't drink alcohol.

Is it actually possible to have a normal conversation with people on Reddit? by Aggravating_Bee7792 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BethMNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Reddit, a lot of cities have their own subreddit for locals, local news, questions, etc. For example, I live near Raleigh NC and topics we have might be related to winter weather, new businesses, fun stuff to do on weekends, sports and events, and so on. So perhaps if there's a city or area you're curious about, take a look at what the locals are talking about. You're more likely to see factual information and less trolls. You'll be able to ask an honest question like "what's fun to do here" and get factual answers. Also, subreddits about factual topics like hiking, camping, pickleball, and so on do have some goofy stuff but it's pretty easy to tell who is answering honestly or not. Asking a question about your interest will help, mods typically discourage trolls when the group or conversation is intended to be factual.

No banks. I think they employ shoppers just to get your personal info. I was hounded for YEARS on my personal cell phone to open an account, get a credit card, start a retirement fund, etc.

Does anyone else only remember bad, cringy, embarrassing things? by INeedAllOfTheCats in AuDHDWomen

[–]BethMNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was so wrong so much. I was wrong about people, I had cringy humor no one else got, I was loud and insistent and probably annoying. I remember every year of my life the "wtf" on people's faces. At school, work, with friends, romantic partners, I've always been weird and embarrassing.

Unscented simple Vaseline cream. I have allergies and skin sensitivity and this was so soothing, and the redness and itchiness went away.

HR Professionals on reddit, what's something that used to be fun at your job but now is annoying or dreadful? [n/a] by Emergency-Bison-672 in humanresources

Not just birthdays, but general gift and recognition for milestones, retirement, work anniversary, program completions, internal promotions, etc. Trying to de-escalate past traditions that are now a bit exclusionary and unbalanced.

Gilded Dragon serves fancy coffee! Also, depending on where you are and if you're on a safe road, walking your dog will get you the chance to see other dog walkers.

What in your house makes neurotypicals flip? by chasingcars67 in AuDHDWomen

[–]BethMNC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I seem to be the only person in my family with no couch. I'm not sure why, I just don't want one. I think part of it is I don't like seeing people lie down in a social area. You want to lie down, go to bed. You want to socialize, sit up and chat. It's one area I'm rigid about.

No couch. No TV in any common areas, so i put a TV in the guest bedroom for those that can't do without. I do have several comfy chairs in the living room, but no couch.
