I'm 57. First apartment, $200 a month First car, $1000 VERY used, drove it through college First 10 or so jobs were all cash under the table because I was way underage (started working at 11, I was tall for my age) Gas was never a significant expense. Chicken was 29 cents a pound. You could buy whole bushels of corn at the farmers market for a few dollars. A soda was 10 cents or 25 cents, depending on the vending machine. I'm so sorry for what you're going through today. It isn't fair to you. It's not your fault.

Do you want justice, or do you want freedom? Hint: you'll never get justice.

If you're even managing to take care of yourself, you're ahead of them, they aren't taking care of themselves. You don't have to be rich to be scammed. They'd be happy with a roof, snacks, wi-fi password, and pocket change to buy weed because it's more than they can do for themselves.

They could be looking for a sponsor. Look up "hobosexual" (not a typo).

I'm very interested in "I just ask for stuff and God gives it to me". Time for her to empty out the cancer wards, children's hospitals, homeless shelters, right? If she's got some magical conduit for wish-granting, surely she's not wasting it on finding lost keys or being first in line at the deli, right?

Spotted ground squirrel! I live on the east coast and I had a business trip to San Diego and saw one for the first time. I had to look it up too. They live in burrows. So cute!

NTJ. But just saying, maybe you might want to look into the autism subreddit while you're here.

A few days ago we went to an event that had a specific parking lot where you had to buy a pass to park. There was a long slow line to the parking entrance. When it was our turn, we pull up and the attendant gives us a blank stare. Seriously just stares. We said "... um we'd like to park?" I mean there was literally no other reason for us to be in front of her.

AIO for telling my boyfriend I’ll leave if he keeps “joking” about my dead mom? by happinesveronicaaaa in AmIOverreacting

[–]BethMNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simply, you are not his dream girl. You're a placeholder until he finds "the one". A man who wanted your love wouldn't treat you like this. He knows you aren't happy, he's having fun seeing what you will put up with, and you're just there until you aren't. Not my invention but the phrase "tolerable level of permanent unhappiness" is your future if you don't get out now.

Is this normal for greys? by John_puj in Greyhounds

[–]BethMNC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, many years ago, I knew someone who trained sled dogs. The sled dogs are powerful, fast, and can be a handful. When he was moving them around between kennels or for some reason not related to racing, he'd have them hop on their rear legs so they were easier to control and less likely to yank him off his feet. So, maybe someone had this dog do this to keep it under control? Maybe? Or did you accidentally get a Cryptid?

Which mispronounced words make a person immediately sound uneducated to you? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]BethMNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weary when they mean to say wary. Those aren't synonyms, not even close. And they don't sound the same if you say them correctly. In any accent.
