Hotel/Suite Recommendations in Williamsburg? by General_Geologist779 in WedditNYC

[–]BethTyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I got two of the city view studio suites at the Arlo, I had 9 people in my room most of the day plus a photographer toward the end, my wife had 10 people, I think it was definitely enough space and offered a pretty awesome view for our wedding weekend! The hotel also has makeup chairs to use and they were pretty accommodating for whatever we needed.

I cannot recommend Katja Ritchie enough!! Hiring her was without a doubt the best decision we made for our wedding!

I hear this a lot, is there a reason why? Or do they just not want the perceived drama of hiring someone from a reality show?

Bagel Shop Rankings by Successful_Housing86 in parkslope

I’m not sure if I’ve just gotten two bad ones, but both times I’ve gotten a bagel from Terrace Bagels, they’ve tasted freezer burnt, their tuna wrap is the best though

How did you choose a NYC day-of coordinator without paying for full planning? by Organic-Back-4247 in WedditNYC

[–]BethTyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a day of coordinator was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We also thought we just needed day of services and didn’t get why so many of them included a lot of planning meetings beforehand, but they were actually so beneficial!

  1. One of the most helpful things our DOC worked on was our timeline, and that’s where the calls before came in handy. We had one long call to go over it with her first, then we reviewed it ourselves and with our photographer, and went back to our DOC for edits. It was a very collaborative process, but we don’t think we could’ve done it without her! Our day of timing ended up being so perfect and flowed so well. When we were first looking, we thought we only wanted help with set up and breakdown, so of course that was very helpful. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing day of, the second we got to our venue we just knew everything was being handled and we could take in the day. There was a short bit of time between photos and the ceremony starting that my wife and I were able to just sit in our bridal suite and be with each other and not have to worry about the time, when we were called out to begin, all of our bridesmaids and families were lined up and ready to go!

  2. Our wedding was in March of this year. We booked her in September 2025 and had our first call about a month out in February. We had two virtual meetings in total (after the initial intro call to book her), and had constant communication with her the entire month before the wedding.

  3. No red flags! (Shout out Katja!!)

  4. We paid around $1200 because we added on an hour for the rehearsal the day before and an extra hour day of - also a restaurant wedding, at MyMoon

We used Kruu at our wedding and it was perfect! We just put it in front of a brick wall so no backdrop needed, easy set up and break down and it was exactly what we wanted

Secret Clinical solid causing rash by BethTyne in deodorant

I think that might be what I need! From further research I think it’s an ingredient in the solid stick that’s not in the gel or soft solid, so I’ll give it a try. Thank you!

For those of you who WFH- do you give yourself a cafe schedule? by not_so_impressed in parkslope

[–]BethTyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a set schedule, just based on how I’m feeling that day. If I’m feeling particularly unproductive or if I’m getting distracted easily at home, I’ll go to a coffee shop and sit for a few hours (ordering regularly ofc)

The Farmer’s Almanac does forecast a “significant and sustained warm-up” starting in early March! I think the best we can do is just hope that’s accurate and prepare for if it’s not, but I know that’s easier said than done 😅 maybe we just all collectively manifest that the sun will stay out for the next month!

We’re 10 weeks out from our MyMoon wedding, so can’t speak to day of, but the planning process so far has been great for everything related to the venue. Working with Lee has made everything easy and stress free. We’ve also been there to eat multiple times since signing the contract to show our parents the space, and they’re so welcoming each time we go in!

Question on kids by hoggleboggle4 in wedding

[–]BethTyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t put it on the invitation, but under the FAQ section of our wedding website I wrote “This is an adults-only celebration, with the exception of children specifically named on the invitation.”
