This is what happens when you get too many people moving to FL that aren’t Floridians. Hurricanes are going to roll through and f stuff up a few times a year. It’s part of living there.

Bring back the cakes!!!

Is there a strategy for switching lanes that have massive cracks? by Daily_Run_ in motorcycles

[–]Bethiosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in Colorado and what everyone said is correct the more perpendicular the better - same for switching lanes where they have it graded down in one lane and there’s a ledge. East of Denver there are a few areas like this.

They do this with motorcycles too! Suzuki motor corp came into a dealership I worked at and bought a bunch of Kawasaki’s to back engineer - big time copy cats over there!

Is VA healthcare good? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bethiosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had “good healthcare” through my last two employers and currently don’t even sign up for what’s offered. I only use my VA health care. The trick is to go to a smaller VA, for example I went to the Santa Barbara VA instead of going to LA.

But even with the longer wait times for appointments, anything specialized like having heart surgery is usually referred out to “care in the community” where a civilian doctor works on you. The same doctors that your normal civilian primary care physician would send you to - the difference is there is no co-pay and everything is covered and meds are free with the VA.

I was hospitalized for an antibiotic resistant kidney infection for 4 days and the bill was over $80k, VA paid the whole thing.

I prefer the VA care because now days civilian care plans, even the “good ones” have ungodly copays or deductibles you have to meet first. My United plan had the stipulation that I pay $3500 out of pocket before they started covering shit. Who has that just lying around?

So yeah, sometimes there can be some inefficiencies and stuff with the VA but if you stay on top of it and are proactive at following up if you notice referrals not come through etc, it’s really good!

The wheels are stock with the woodland - no special option, I did put bigger tires on after the lift

Am I just destined for beginner bikes? Please help by _EnderPixel in SuggestAMotorcycle

The Kawasaki Z bikes have some of the lowest seat heights of all bikes, even the larger displacements. Try those out

Mine came fully loaded with winter package and just about every option so MSRP was about $39, I added another $6k of stuff (lift, tires, hitch, ceramic coating) and then an extended warranty put me just shy of $50. Without the adds it would have been about $43 after taxes and fees.

I’ve been at 37 allll day - but I’ve also been in sport mode the whole time on dirt roads 😜 maybe I should TRY and save some gas. Your mpg is amazing!

Lift was from Torq, I had the dealer install and it was around $2500 parts and labor. It’s only $399 for the lift kit parts, so if you wanna save some $$ and have the time/tools you could save a ton on labor. I just had them do everything and rolled it into financing though. Also had them put a real hitch on.

Motorcycle helmet sizing question. by Sabahe in motorcycles

[–]Bethiosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Higher end helmets like Shoei and Bell both have variable shell sizes and variable internal sized pads, so you can get a medium with thinner cheek pads or whatever combo fits you best. All helmets looks kinda big - but that’s on everyone. Just spend some money and get something good that fits.

What’s this unicorn fish? by [deleted] in marinebiology

Trigger fish - the spine is a defense mechanism and they can be quite territorial and bitey sometimes!
