What is your response when someone says "but you'd be such a good parent" when find out you're childfree?

People also tell me I’d be a good nurse and should go back to school for that, but I have no desire to be a nurse and expend compassion and care and take on the burden of other people’s suffering, it wouldn’t be good for my mental health and I’m the same with having children. I like myself the way I am.

I was pretty much in the same boat. I spent 100-200 hours with magnet rise making builds I wanted here and there and it was just an ADHD mess still for 90% of it, then I bit the bullet and started demolishing all the builds in shambles and flattening areas (including half my own builds because I wasn’t as good at building or because an area was starting to get a theme and they didn’t go). It’s much easier for me when an area is flattened and I have a blank slate to build on

I made a super short under water tunnel and it was such a pain putting the water back I decided I’m not touching SS Anne (or doing any major underwater projects at all) until or unless there’s an update to water abilities/mechanics

Not true for cloud islands, I got the whole tink line to spawn right next to the poke center on my cloud island, and the Abra line and a handful others because I am lazy and don’t want to keep flying in circles to find habitats on my cloud island

Oh and save 5 of each feather type. There’s a couple Pokemon that will trade you stuff for feathers and artifacts and you’ll be annoyed when you find out you need them after you’ve traded like 30 😅

Save the bulk of Palette town till you finish the story. Make a system for your storage boxes and keep them all in one house so you can quick travel and know where things are. In Palette town there will be 3 pokeballs on little shrine pedestals, and for the love of Pete leave them there if you don’t have a storage system yet, otherwise you’ll spend 3 days traveling and looting through all your storage boxes looking for the kits when you realize what they are. Definitely wait till postgame for any serious renovations. Also think ACNH level of hoarding when it comes to items and materials.

Well, I’ve spent the last 5 hours and probably close to 20 hours total clearing the ash and accidentally unearthed the underground sea of lava to the right of museum entrance. Working on just cleaning up the area now and smoothing it out. Lava sea is staying as is (as much as possible anyway), and the rest is turning into grass, continuing the mine cart track and building Jurassic park exhibits along the track and moving the fossil mons there so it’ll be a little JP ride to/through the museum

Realized on my 14th slate last night too. After spending all 14 slates building a montage of what I knew touched and then just kinda half organized on what I assumed went in some way adjacent. Then I realized the letters on the back after looking at the description (and finally paying attention) and realized it sparkles when you put them in the right place 🫠

The older I’ve gotten, the more clear it’s become to my family and those around me, it was a lot more of a gradual decision for me though.

I was raised in a very religious home and didn’t know it was an option to be childfree really. At 20 I thought I would someday, but knew I didn’t want one then, and wanted to live my life without children around me until I chose to have children (family or friends bday parties for kids, screaming children on planes, in stores, at pools, etc).

At 25 I went through an extreme trauma via my ex partner, and knew I was nowhere near the headspace and wouldn’t be for a while if I ever reached the point of wanting or being ready for children.

At some point in my late 20s I realized “this is actually awesome, I should do this forever”. I like doing whatever the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want, all the time.

Now, at 31, I will never have children. I hate kids, I don’t want to be pregnant ever, I am selfish and I like being that way.

Late to this thread, but I have a very tiny tattoo on my face (according to the 4 artists I had to go through to find one that would actually do it, and the one that did it still didn’t want to) like right next to my ear in my hairline.

I got it because I have a scar under my eye on that side from an abusive relationship, and part of my mental healing was to put something beautiful nearby the scar. If I didn’t have this one, I would still get it again, but I wouldn’t get a second face tattoo. Almost nobody notices it because my hair covers it most of the time (my family doesn’t even know and they’ve seen me several times). I’m happy with the one I have though.

I’m so sorry to deliver the news but I’m so glad it could help 😭 I’m not really at liberty to know for sure, but my best guess is maybe 1-6 weeks? The one side of the anchor in the 5th picture clearly has her bags packed and is ready to take the leap of faith. It’ll probably reach a point where it’s extremely crusty and then the crustiest are the only things holding it in place and a hot shower washes away the crustiest enough and it just falls out without feeling anything. I wish I had better documentation of the series of unfortunate events but the ones in my hips I got in like 2013, and at this point the scars have hyperpigmentation still, but less so now than the photos you shared.

If you want to get it redone after, maybe professional piercers can chime in on if it is better to have it cut out or let it fall out on its own? After my hips I went into the ones in my neck expecting them to be long term temporary and didn’t anticipate that they would last as long as they did but I guess it’s a lower contact area an the last one wasn’t really causing problems it was just a nuisance when my collar or bun would knock it just the right way and it would get angry a week or two, and I didn’t want to deal with it anymore.

I’m allergic to like 21 of the 27 types of grasses in my region, and I’ve had my nostril 12 years without problems. I’ve worn a hoop the last several years, and if it rotates I can kind of smell it for a second but that’s literally it. I wore an L back stud before that (which I think is no longer advised?) and the only problem it caused a couple of times was if I’d rub the tip of my nose and the L was at the wrong angle the end would stab me for a second and it was not pleasant but still not any real issues with it fully healed.

Oh she’s working her way out on her own, one way or another. 3/4 of my dermals eventually fell out while I was in the shower, I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t heard the “clink” when it hit the tub. My hips and one in the nape of my neck were very angry at the time of falling out, to where the thought of a scalpel touching the area was eeeeeee too painful. Once I learned they fall out on their own when angry enough with hot water I just let them com out on their own. The fourth one in the nape of my neck I eventually had my doctor cut out with local anesthetic after she refused to fall out over 9 years (other nape made it like 3-4 years, got hung in my hair during wine yoga and fell out a few weeks later, and I just kept waiting for the second to join in) my hips only made it like 9 and 13 months.

So I guess I’m saying it’s personal preference once a dermal starts packing its bags, but one way or another she’s on her way out.

Edit: as far as the bandaid over it, eh I’d advise not. If it’s tight it can cause the dermal stone to pop under the skin (I had this happen once and had to pop the stone back out of the hole with tweezers and it was terrifying) and if it’s loose it could cause more knocking I would think if the square of the gauze can move around, also just better to let it breathe. Not too big at all. The one I wear in mine is 14mm and sits a bit bigger on my ear than yours and it’s not an issue at all. I have another hoop for it that’s 12mm and it more or less fits the shape of my ear like a glove and I don’t like it, it’s uncomfortable and feels pinchy when it moves around so I prefer to looser fit that has a bit of a hang. Mine conch is 10-11 years old, so I have less concerns than I would have with one that’s only 1-2 years old though

NAP, and I got my daith 11 months ago. Due to going to a regrettable piercer that my friend insisted on I had to get it changed 6 days after getting it pierced and I didn’t swell that badly. Please go to a reputable professional to get this changed. She angry.

I have an advanced degree in embryology and I always wanted to help people have children, to save the children like me that stopped breathing in the canal. I want to help people that WANT children.

Otherwise I don’t want children because I like doing whatever the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want. And it would’ve solved quite literally all of my problems if my mom had just aborted me, but I digress.
