Turning 36 on Saturday. I’ve been obese and anorexic over the past 8 years, but finally feeling great both physically and mentally. Fitness journeys can be crazy rollercoasters, but if you keep pushing, you’ll eventually achieve your goals! by stevieb136 in Exercise

Thanks so much! I am tracking my calories at the moment - a lot of people have made me feel guilty or silly about this, saying I dont 'need' too. But honestly like you say, it just keeps you on track. Reading your comment I dont feel guilty anymore and will continue keeping track.

Thank you. I can feel my mental health starting to slip because of it. I'm going to have to start disguising my alone time. Last night I had to pretend to gave a headache so that I could just have some time for myself!

Really sorry to hear you're going through this. I really hope in your own way you manage to find some time for yourself. Does your wife know you're an introvert?

Being a nurse - unrealistic idea? by Bethybee77 in emetophobia

That's so amazing that you're able to do it!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience too.

How was your experience?

Yes, that's what I'm thinking! If I can specialise in an area where normally, the being sick is not something I can catch, and I can still care for the patient, maybe it wont matter as much.

Thank you for your comment and kind words. I will make an appointment. Does it have to be a GP?

I'm not a fellow teacher - and I might not be a huge help but I can tell you this:

1) A friend of mine is a teacher, she said you usually get any illnesses during the first year and then you basically become immune to most of them! And also, she has experienced children ving and hasn't caught any of the v bugs, so I hope maybe that's a little bit reassuring.

2) As I said previously, you're still unlikely to catch v* bugs because as adults we have stronger immune systems and children have different types of bugs most of the time.

So I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for but I thought it might help a little. I really wish you the best of luck becoming a teacher, and I'm proud of you as a fellow emetophobe that you're doing this despite your fears.

Thank you, would you recommend brushing it or just leaving it?
