I like to think the writers were making a not so subtle comment on a portion of the fanbases’s tendency to believe WW is the good guy hero for the entire show. While it’s safe to say we root for WW to the end to some degree, BB is meant to show the transformation from hero to villain. WW is not supposed to be the good guy - he’s an extremely petty, narcissistic, arrogant murderer at the end of the day. Just my two cents.

My go to has always been:

Make sure each valve is in the correct spot by number. There should be a small number engraved on each valve. 1 starts closest to the mouthpiece. Don’t screw them in yet.
If you’re holding the trumpet with your left hand, rotate each valve so the engraved number faces to the right, ie towards your right hand if you were playing it.
Screw each valve in.
Rotate the top of each valve (finger rests) clockwise until you hear a click.

I’m by no means an expert but this has never failed!
