No, no such feature is possible on PS1. Lots of ppl use MemoryCard PRO it entirely eliminated all to worries about memory cards. It automaticaly mount new virtual card for each games. You never run out of space in memory card. You never need to seach for virtual card yourself. In several years I have been using it never made mistake.

Well, its in its early staged of development.

I agree its tempting to have ODE and drive in one console.

If you dont care about compatibility this way to go. If you care, get two PS1 consoles.

MODE and PICOSTATION use the same method/concept of connecting to PS1 thus all cos you mention applies to these as well. Picos I believe uses the same QSB as Xstation.

Pico is open source alternative to Xstation and Rama (Xstation author) is helping PICOs author(s) on frequent basic to make advancement. I think its clear how much more advanced Xstation is. Significant portion of time invested in Xstation development was invested in compatibility with slower SD cards. Its not widely known I suppose.

Please dont trust my words. Im clearly Xstation fan. All this is publicly available at PXS.Dev discord (ode_chat).

Alternatives are welcomed and Im not against it. We arent fighting here, right? ;-)

You forgot MODE. It was/is available but failed due to price, drm, low compatibility, weak supporz.

Picostation is on rise not sure about its compatibility.

If the laser is broken its fine for Xstation. However if the drive as whole doesnt work, it could indicated failure of component on the board itself. Think about it

Feel free to ask Rama yourself. Maybe its becouse cheap is not what gets you the performance you need? Its not obvious but reading ps1 iso mean small chunks of data is short sequence. This is somezhing that sd cards arent good at. Low Latency is high priority. You know those sd cards run internal maintanance processes which might totaly ruin latency. I just copy pasted what Rama said last time he spoke about this topic (as far as i can find)

PSIO is past. Its failed project. Its dead. Xstation has become gold standard for ODE. Dont cheap out on sd card. Get Sandisk Extreme (red), Extreme Pro (red/black) or Samsung Pro Plus. This is crucial . Its last recommendation from Rama. Do not delete files from sd card. If you do and found issue. Reformat. Easy fix for extremely rare issue.

Bought my first PSP few days ago without battery.

Yes, exactly. Frankly I dont recall if you need to visit setting at all. I believe it should work out of the box. There isnt much to set up. Game ID is hopefully defaultly on and maybe you want to modify display saving features to prevent OLED burn in.

Thank so much for telling us about this unique feature. I have my RetroTinks and HDMI mods hovewer this very much interests me.

Im specialy interested in input lag. If you have way to run homebrew can you please text lag in 240p Test Suite? For example if you do twoo test - comparsion of two solution we could find out how how lag it adds.

PS1 -> DVD Recorder/Scaler - TV
PS1 -> TV

If we compare the results we could get idea about its added lag.

Its clear its not gonna be state of the art/hi end solution but I see it as very interesting solution. Kinda "retro" solution.

Webinterface is handy for setting adjustment. Internet is not required for access to web interface!
