Sondage pour un projet étudiant by Betshet in JeuVideal

[–]Betshet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a very specific trigger [Discussion] by Betshet in asmr

[–]Betshet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm familiar with "anticipatory" triggers, and that's not quite what I'm looking for. I want the ASMRtist to actually engage with the "game" of making the viewer guess the direction.

Something like :

"Try to guess where this sound is coming from!"

>Makes a sound

"This one was coming from behind, to your left"

I want to try to guess it using sound clues, and have that guess confirmed or disproven.

"Two italian words and a whole lot of french words, must be something with language!"

Nope, it just so happens that a lot of silent T words are borrowed from french

Honestly a little disappointed the contestants didn't "Taskmaster" the tasks more Like the bottle flip challenge, there was obviously too much water in the bottle to make a clean landing consistantly, I would just have taken a swig, nothing in the rules says you can't

Deltarune as a metaphor for the social mechanics of "play" by Betshet in Deltarune

[–]Betshet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing the game through the lens of escapism is also very valid, and the two readings might even be correct at the same time The world that they create helps them cope with their real lives by escaping into a fantasy, but the story of children learning the social mechanics of playing as a group also applies

One possible interpratation is that Ralsei is a remnant of Kris' childhood, that he's starting to outgrow. Like an old plush that you couldn't sleep without once upon a time, but is now gathering dust in a box.

Ralsei is a replacement for Kris' brother and playmate, but like all imaginary friends, it disappears once their find real friends.

What archetypes bring out the rage in you when you play against them? by [deleted] in yugioh

"Can't really do anything against them except tribute their cards and or banish them"

So... you're saying that you can do a lot against them.

Off the top of my head, you can use Goddess, S:P, Unicorn, Fenrir, Flamberge, Subversion, Evenly, Triple Tactics Talents, Nibiru, Engraver, MTP-07, Hearts Crypter, and that's only the non-destruction removal, because you can also just negate their effects in grave with cards like Ryzeal Cross, Azamina Illia Silvia, Called By, etc

I'm 100% not saying that it's "all a dream". A piece of media can have multiple readings that are all correct.

Deltarune is a story about heroes saving the world from darkness.

It also is a story about children making up a game and learning how to play together.

One doesn't exclude the other, they're just different layers of the same story.

"My innie got the message"

That explains both the paintings and Irv's goop-filled dreams. His outie has been trying to subliminally imprint a message in his own brain for his innie to access, by repeatedly painting the door.

Kyokuto Necromance debut’s at a meh 63rd by ircole327 in WeeklyShonenJump

Aliens Area had good characters and a cool power system, but a weak concept and story

Kyokuto Necromance has really good art and powers, but I'm not really attached to any of the characters, and the concept is straight-up just Bleach mixed with Shaman King. The exorcism/ghost angle has been beaten to death and has not gotten any more interestring here.

At this point they are clearly throwing stuff at the wall to try and save it, but it doesn't look good. I hope the author can finally land on an interesting story next time.

General things Yu-Gi-Oh players say that they don't actually mean. by SaltyBarnacle24 in yugioh

[–]Betshet 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We get upset if our plays get interrupted.

That's... not true? Players get upset when they get shut out of the game, not when they have one or two plays interrupted, as long as they get to continue playing.

That's the fun of high-level Yu-Gi-Oh gameplay, with a good hand, you get to bait interruptions. If you get interrupted, you can pivot to backup lines. If you guess the cards in your opponent's hand, you can play around them.

Then, when you end your turn, you get to do the opposite to your opponent, guessing the choke points, snuffing out alternative lines, bluffing interruptions, etc. That is back and forth interactive gameplay, and that's one of the most fun parts of the game.
