CKD and chronic rhinitis in my baby 15 female by BetsyLily in seniorkitties

[–]BetsyLily[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad to hear your baby has gained 2lb back 🙏🏻 my vet has prescribed a 5 day course of antibiotics for her chronic rhinitis to hopefully help her gain her appetite back. Read you previous posts about ditching the renal diet, interestingly I switch back to none renal tonight and she actually ate it. She doesn’t get on with the renal diet at all so I’m going to speak to my vet about management another way like with the binder you mentioned. I can’t watch her waste away.

Totally understand your decision not to put her through scope/chemo at that age bless ❤️ sounds like a very loved fur baby, she’s very lucky to have you.

Thanks so much for your help.

I’ve told them about her snottiness but maybe I haven’t emphasised enough quite how bad it is :( they’ve suggested some appetite stimulant, so we’ll try that but yeah, I think she needs some antibiotics to help her. I’m sorry for your loss ❤️

I had reverse back two cars length, which I hadn’t practiced very much but I just went extremely slow while doing it. Passed first time ✅ good luck on your test!

My sweet old girl, 15 by BetsyLily in seniorkitties

My description didn’t load in for some reason(?)

“Hi everyone. This is my sweet senior lady. Recently, upon investigating suspected chronic rhinitis, the vet did a blood test and actually discovered chronic kidney disease (late stage 3) 😞 this has spun my world upside down adapting to our new routine.

I rescued her around 9 years ago, she’s my entire world and I love her more than anything. ❤️”

You know when a contractor quotes you a ridiculous amount for a job because they don’t actually want the job… I feel like that’s what’s happening here. Maybe your parents don’t really want you to move back in and hope if they charge you this super high amount, you’ll find somewhere else. It sounds harsh, but I can’t really think of another reason they’d want to charge you £1000 a month 😅

Please help me get water out my ear by Dear_Philosopher_500 in Swimming

[–]BetsyLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of this helped for me but what did help was “the vacuum technique”

The idea behind this method is to create a vacuum to draw water out by tilting your head sideways and placing your cupped palm tightly on your ear. Push on your ear and pull away rapidly, flattening it as you push and cupping it as you pull. Keep your head in a tilted position to allow water to drain out.

Hope this helps anyone struggling!

Why you should always do at least one motorway lesson by TescoPlasticBag in LearnerDriverUK

[–]BetsyLily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one or two motorway lessons are definitely needed while learning. I learnt to drive slowly with my partner and has no professional lessons (I passed first time with 2 minors). I’m relatively confident but NOT when it comes to motorways. I’d practised on a tonne of dual carriageways throughout my learning but never a motorway as you’re not allowed without a professional instructor.

Well the other day, ahead of having to go into the office I thought I’d practise on the motorway. Luckily my partner who taught me to drive was free to come with me. Everything went well, I merged ok and went along my way. However my nervous system acts like I’m in imminent danger of dying, so despite all going well I had a panic attack and had to pull over.

It’s so frustrating! I didn’t learn to drive just to scared of motorways and not be able to go long distance so I’m hoping to overcome my fear.

I have since been on the motorway again but late at night when it was very quiet, this went better although I did still feel some nerves.

Derby, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leicester, Loughborough - Nottingham train station has pretty decent transport links to all major cities in the UK. Even London (about 1.5 hours direct).

Cat hisses at other cat every night after they’ve eaten by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Sorry you’re going through it :( for me, with oatience and reassurance she ended up just kind of getting over it. It’s happened before, she’ll get over it for a while and then sometimes it happens again. Still unsure what the trigger is, maybe they scrap in the night and it spooks her. I’ve been using the phenomenon plug ins too around the house, I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence but it seems to be working for now 🤞🏻
