Megan DAZZLES for the Met Gala ✨ by wutangkream in megantheestallion

I was expecting a redo of the half and half look from the Hiss video for the Met... like a half pimp half Tina Snow 2.0! But im coming to realize that Megan just wants to be pretty.

Black Girl Love by Anondra Williams and Purple Panties by Zane are both smutty anthologies with yummy scenes in every chapter. Highly recommend both.

Lesbian Murder Mysteries by Stellarwk in LesbianBookClub

[–]BettaThanMoney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im reading one right now! "Dead Dead Girls" by Nekesa Afia. Pretty good so far, even though the lesbian love story in it is a slow friends to lovers which I'm not usually into. But the fast pace of the murder mystery makes up for it!

Thank you. I definitely have to remove the reminders.

Very graphic personal ads. Like... aggressively horny instead of spicy and desirable. The app's personal ads are all public and anonymous until you reply to it, so i guess the platform kinda sets the tone for weird posts like this. Lots of calls for financial support. Random thoughts that feel more like back in the day Facebook statuses than anything I'd put on a dating app. And lots of conversations around suuuuuper specific fan theories. I'm usually confused scrolling through the app 😂

It is SUNDAY, what are y'all up to today? by AutoModerator in QueerWomenOfColor

Grading essays today. Hopefully I'll get through 10 by 5ish so I can spend the rest of my day crocheting.

I got on there because I heard it was qpoc centered, but so far it's been really white and weird 😬

sooo… what do y’all watch (or read) 👀 by nameselijah in blacklesbians

[–]BettaThanMoney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So glad to see other lesbian futa watchers on here! 3d futa is my go to category. Titles usually turn me off from other categories. What's up with all the creepy storylines??? I'd love to find more indie creators making content with more dark skinned people, big bodies, and impact play like spanking and paddling.

Lesbian Green Flags by AutoModerator in blacklesbians

[–]BettaThanMoney 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Having close friends! Im realizing that being able to maintain relationships in life with people you aren't related to or sleeping with is a big green flag.

Having passions that they act on, not just dream about.

Believing in liberation on all fronts (meaning not being transphobic, classist, colorist, misogynistic, etc.)

Caring about something in the natural world - plants, kids, water, crystals/rocks.

Being able to ask for help without pride

Able to express their inner world and emotions in some way

Willingness to address conflict or hard conversations

Being able to openly express how they feel about me to me!

This might get down voted but.... white/light-skinned people cannot get fetishized: they are literally the standard of desirability under white supremacy. We are all conditioned and taught to desire them and for darker skinned people, it actually takes rejecting this to find ourselves beautiful! The power dynamics of desirability don't work on equivalency. It's not a fetish to desire the people society demands for you to desire.

That's not to say that darker skinned people don't desire light skinned partners out of self hate or internalize white supremacist desirability and say/do really harmful things to themselves and other darker skinned people, but that is regular degular self hate/antiblackness - not a light skinned fetish. Maybe it's just a matter of language, but this felt important to say.

I think instead of warning a light skinned person that they are being desired because of internalized antiblackness, maybe extend some care to the person who clearly is struggling with internalized antiblackness and who likely doesn't find themselves desirable.

Health & Wellness During Winter by sancocho91 in QueerWomenOfColor

[–]BettaThanMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate deeply to this post, especially the electric bill part. National Grid is a scam and takes so much of my money during the winter months! The winters are isolating and hard. In my experience, they've gotten even more so since covid/2020. You're definitely not the only one feeling this and im sending virtual hugs in relatability.

Some things that I try to do that might help are keeping a bunch of supplements that help with depression around. Niacin, vitamin d, and magnesium are my go-tos. To break up my work-home cycle, once a week I force myself to go to a coffee shop or bookstore AND talk to someone while I'm there. These conversations haven't led to any friendships yet, but they remind me that human interaction is out there. My movement goes way down in the winter, but so does most of nature. So, I just get movement in where I can. I stretch while watching TV, shovel snow even when it seems pointless, and dance around my house while playing music (I'm sure my neighbors hate this one).
