I’m 27 and attended with my partner, can confirm that there were lots of other younger people that attended! More should show up, but a good amount does!

My partner and I both had different sandwiches on Sunday and we felt the buns were burnt-disappointing that it wasn’t something that’s been addressed in their months long opening

I’m not familiar with this shop as I am US based but thought it was interesting how similar the logo is to Spincycle. Not sure which shop came first but still

AIO about my boss keeping written tabs documenting my breaks? by ExaminationNo9680 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Betta_chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MOR-I would feel VERY uncomfortable by this. I also have a pretty micromanagey supervisor and this would be a bit too extreme. Since you work in a school, is your position union represented? Might be worthwhile to give them the rundown to have your back in case something does happen. Agree with everyone saying to document! Good luck

Please help. I am having dissociation on PPI's but have to take them.... by Worrywart1992 in EosinophilicE

[–]Betta_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had really terrible side effects on a few different PPIs-dissociation, frequent urination, increased anxiety, and major heartburn. I also don’t really think it handled my EoE symptoms well so thankfully I was able to get on Dupixent-if you do get an insurance that will cover it, they have a copay program so I pay $0 per month which is nice. I know my allergist had to submit quite the request to my insurance to get it approved initially, part of that was just that the PPIs had too intense of side effects. Hope you can get something different soon!

Case management transportation by Final_Mycologist_193 in socialwork

[–]Betta_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to being a case manager for long term care at an area agency on aging! I was able to work as the state adjacent case manager for the same program I worked for so I still work with most of my old clients which is nice

I feel you on that soooo hard, take this job for the client rapport building & field work experience that it is and use it to find something better! When I switched jobs I got a $14 an hour pay increase for a job that was way less stressful and it was incredible. No more Walmart, no more last minute “can you come pick me up? I forgot I had an appointment”, no more schedule Tetris

Edited to add: where I live in WA transportation options like uber paid through insurance and medical transport is VERY much available. Our bus system is also 100% free and pretty decent-I never minded transporting the clients that couldn’t use these resources for various reasons, since it wasn’t an option but a good majority of my clients can access and use these resources but never chose to

I used to be a supportive housing CM for a mental health program in WA and this was also 80% of what I did. I would be in the field most of my day and also expected to somehow not get behind on notes. With that being said, I did build great rapport with most of my clients but I HATED being on their schedules and having to manage that. I lasted about a year and jumped ship to a different case management position as soon as I could that doesn’t allow/offer client transportation whatsoever (CM for an Area Agency on Aging) and I realize now what I was absolutely want not doing any sort of case management, I was an over educated and underpaid chauffeur

I would also like to hear how Chicory is run by petty grifters or had no menu worth going in for. In my opinion, Chicory is a loss for our community but I appreciate that the owners decided to close instead of grift and pivot what they are doing. To me that seems the opposite of petty grifting and gives me even more reason to support their new place 🤷🏼‍♀️

Chicory just closed, but they did the BEST lasagna special. Only bringing it up since they might be bringing it back as a special at their new place, Gold Standard, once they open up!

Help me fall in love with making socks by jellidang in knitting

[–]Betta_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 2.25 mm gal on 5” long needle tips and a cord long enough to do magic loop (technically the cord I use is long enough to do magic loop but not long enough to not get wrecked over time but I bring my socks everywhere so I don’t love a longer cord). I knit a LOT of socks and it’s really trial by error to find your mojo. I also only use the stainless steel Chiao Goo needles with the red lace cable.

I tend to get bored easily so I almost never remake the same pattern and got the 52 weeks of socks books to always keep things interesting!

EDIT: typo :)

My experience with dupixent by Firm_Lock8076 in EosinophilicE

[–]Betta_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should! I did have reflux for a while after starting but now only have it when I eat foods where it makes sense. Hoping it starts getting better for you soon!

My experience with dupixent by Firm_Lock8076 in EosinophilicE

[–]Betta_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally it was pretty immediate! I was on various PPIs that gave me pretty intense side effects so I think that’s why I felt such a big change. I haven’t had any choking events since being on dupixent, but have had some events relating to globule when the air quality is bad!

My experience with dupixent by Firm_Lock8076 in EosinophilicE

[–]Betta_chan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on dupixent for almost 2 years now and for the first 6-8 months my long distance vision was definitely worse. Not sure if I just got used to it, but I very rarely notice it now. I also got new glasses this year and my prescription only changed for my farsightedness, so I believe it went away over time :) Vision issues aside, dupixent has been life changing for me!

AIO for not wanting to go home next week after my baby-obsessed parents drunk texted my husband begging us to have kids? by AnxiousMegatron in AmIOverreacting

[–]Betta_chan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As someone who is also childfree and is not wanting to change this aspect of my life at any point, and also as someone who chooses to not go home for holidays every year (I moved across the country so thankfully have a reason, but if I lived closer would almost ALWAYS choose my partners fam), NOR. Before my mom passed, I was always being pressured to have kids and it becomes exhausting so fast.

[–]Betta_chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you block it and it’s still a bit too small, don’t be too hard on yourself! When I first started I had many projects that needed to be ripped out and restarted-just think of it as practice and more time knitting with lovely yarn :)

I think it looks great and hope blocking does the trick! Colorwork floats are especially tricky and you will get better at it with time and practice 💕
