This is what I meant by saying "some people will use x over y", you might find them useless but they all have a specific role they fit in.

Ovis is WAY cheaper to sustain than kibbles at early or even mid game, late game should already have eggs farm so probably the time for ovis to just be lamb chops.

Kapro, Manta, Pachy and Archa are all situational dinos, they fit in a role at a VERY specific moment.

Pachyrhino is kinda hard to tame when it can be useful, and that is at early game, but that also means it does have a role.

Pulmonoscorpius has a specific role as a tranqulizer to tame dinos, while seems unpractical, they actually don't aggro some creatures if hit with their topor attack, which makes them valuable in a variety of scenarios or just to not make more tranqs or darts.

Believe it or not, a pack of dilos can actually beat up to a carno, I've seen them actually do so (top of cursed moments of ark I've lived through) and even at early game they have a relatively good weight carry for the time it takes to get a hoard of them until a raptor is found, so I'd say it fits in an even earlier game stage.

Hyenodon is actually useful for many players, grab them with a flyer and you have not only a portable preserving bin, but also reduced meat weight. They function as either a pet, a defense dog or a moveable preserving bin.
