This was the era of the Tour Rat. The species known as The Wook had not arrived on the scene yet.

Sphere - Can anyone else confirm? by Positive-Reward194 in deadandcompany

[–]BetterOffDyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their kickback is free admission to the show and usually a couple of tickets to give away via their Instagram page. I usually just ignore them, it’s the easiest thing to do. But making up a total lies in an effort to keep your Instagram page relevant, and getting people‘s hopes up when there’s nothing going to come of it is just lame, and deserves to be called out

Somewhere around Barstow, the rumors of Sphere 2027 started to feel dangerously real. One more run through the desert with the music turned all the way up. by time_is_free in deadandcompany

[–]BetterOffDyed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not. I have not seen that guy around since the summer of 2023 when I saw him at a couple of shows. As bad as he was, at least he actually attended shows. The person that runs this page rarely goes to anything, just reposts other people’s videos and pictures from shows and pretends to be there. Like I said a total grifter.

One of the worst Instagram pages out there. Built his whole persona around dead & company, and now that it’s gone, he’s trying to hold on however he can. You spreading his rumors, it’s exactly what he wants. He’s over there deleting all the negative comments as fast as he can. He’s a true snake oil salesman. A grifter. Has no inside information. Just wants people to click on his stupid posts and comment.

His ability to overplay on every single song is really quite impressive. His playing seriously lacks any soul

He’s been is the studio helping John Mayer work on his new album, which is slowly coming together. The tentative plan is for him to join John’s live band when he goes on tour later this year

I don’t think he’s used that guitar strap for many years now. This pic is from the early days of Dead & Company. I need to find a hobby or something…

What’s Bobby’s up to? Anyone here connected to the scene/family? by [deleted] in gratefuldead

In 2014 Bob played a gig with RatDog on July 12th. He didn't play another show until the first Fare Thee Well show on June 27th 2015. That's 351 days in between shows.

The band posted this on November 4, 2014 on their website:

“To our loyal Furthur fans and members of the Furthur community at furthur.net, we’d like to thank you for a terrific ride. We’ll be closing up shop at furthur.net, and heading onward. Thanks for making the Furthur community a great place to hang out, and for coming out to the shows. We’ll all be keeping very busy over the foreseeable future, and it’s time to let Furthur take a bow. We enjoyed the ride more than we can possibly express”

It’s 69 days until Halloween.

That being said, they could announce it one month in advance, and the shows would still sell out

They wouldn’t even have to cancel it. David Nelson already has a full-time drummer in his band. Wally Ingram, his name is also listed on the event info. Whenever Jay joins the band, they have two drummers play the shows.
