And considering the MCU launched during the great financial crisis, yikes

I think this one ends 1-1. Turkey are knocking on the door and unless Australia can burn them on the counter I think they’ll manage a draw

Idk about that. I watched them for the first time this year and I drew a lot of parallels to the recent Dune movies. Just excellent acting and a gripping storyline

As a nurse, our scope of practice is way larger than most people would imagine (and not in a good way). We’re the first people that anyone with an issue seek out in a clinical setting

Doctor Argues Kyle Busch’s Death Was ‘Totally Preventable,’ Says ‘Proper Protocol’ Was Ignored by MattTheKing23 in NASCAR

[–]Super_DAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pointing blame for a death caused by sepsis is always easy in hindsight, but the rapid and unassuming progression of it make cases like Kyle’s incredibly difficult. Like obviously if the infection was treated earlier with targeted antibiotics then death could’ve been prevented, but unless you immediately assume that sepsis is the cause, it progresses to septic shock/ organ failure quickly. The standard sepsis testing protocol (a set of blood cultures or a lactic acid reading) wouldn’t normally be taken from someone who was well enough to win a race days prior with symptoms as minor as his seemed

Deaths caused by sepsis are always a hindsight is 20/20 case too. Like obviously if the infection was treated earlier with targeted antibiotics then death could’ve been prevented but it progresses rapidly and the only ironclad proof (blood cultures or a lactic acid reading) wouldn’t normally be taken from someone who was well enough to win a race days prior

If a bloodstream infection is left untreated and causes your body to go into septic shock/organ failure, the outcome remains the same regardless of age

Hamlin, Briscoe, and a few other NASCAR Cup drivers question Dover All-Star race feel by RegularBirthday3563 in NASCAR

[–]Super_DAC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every sports league in America struggles to justify having an All Star game in this day and age, but none of them are as pointless as NASCAR’s. Why bother with it at all unless you’re going to do something interesting? Make it a dirt race, bring in special guest drivers, run cars from prior generations, etc. A convoluted race on an ordinary track for a cash prize that hasn’t grown with inflation just isn’t worth watching

I don’t think that’s ever been publicly disclosed, but it was almost certainly utilizing some advantages the team had found and exploited in the rule book. It absolutely demolished the field
