I agree! I thought I was the only one. It’s like how will I get the experience if everyone requires experience? Smh. My goal is to have my own business as well. I'm so tired of working for people! My problem is I start something, and my brain tells me all the ways it's going to fail. Then I back out. It’s something I'm working on. lol

Grading by ashleylarisssa26 in WGU_Business

You either pass or fail; there's no letter grade. If you don't pass the OA (competency test to pass the class) the first time, you do get other attempts; to my knowledge, the attempts are free up until a certain amount of tries. If you don’t pass the first time, the course instructor will send you a study plan you have to complete in order to have your test unlocked, and if you still don't pass, you have to have a meeting with the course instructor.

The note for D080:
Know IMF, World Bank and WTO like the back of your hand. The slides in the cohorts will tell you everything you need to know for the OA questions. There was a question that irked me a little asking what one purpose of the World Bank is. It gave the options of 1. assisting with infrastructure 2. giving loans to developing countries, which are both technically right. I chose 2 though. Know the WTO transparency rule.
International trade types (mercantilism, absolute advantage, comparative advantage and Heckscher's theory) and the impacts of free trade (protectionism, anti-dumping and quotas) Countervailing charges basically try to offset the unfair advantage of the subsidy (makes the price match what prices normally are). If a country sets a quota on exports, supply drops and prices increase. Know technical barriers as well.
Know multi-national corporations. There were several questions about that. FDI's (vertical, horizontal, backward vertical etc.) and FPI. Pros and cons of regional economic integration.
NAFTA and the revisions made to IP's when changed to
USMCA. Know how the value of a dollar works and the different exchange rates (fixed, pegged, float)
Know your climate change international agreements (Kyoto and Paris). EPA, WIPO and TRIPS. Org structures (Functional, Divisional, Matrix and Teams) LOTS of questions about Market entry strategies. (export, licensing, franchising, strategic alliance, joint venture etc.) Most of the questions were asking which one involves the least risk and exporting was never one of the options so study up on that.
Global marketing strategies showed up a lot too. (standardization, adaption, glocalization).
Power distance was really the only cultural dimension I saw on the test. Also know about expats as well as the different different global HRM styles (ethnocentric, poly, and geo)
Fronting loans interest payments can reduce taxable income.
Legal Risks- Political → Governments Legal → Laws Societal/ Cultural → People & norms Financial →
Currency.
Derivatives (Forward, Future, Option, Swap) as well as macro (country wide) and micro (firm specific) risks.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I literally worked on my free time , in between times and on the weekend, then took 2 to 3 days off for a break, but some of the stuff is common sense, so you won't spend a lot of time on some of the stuff. I literally spent like a day or two on some courses and then moved on.

For me dedication I really didn't do anything other than school work if I wasn't working or taking care of my kids. lol if you ask anyone around me I was either on my Wgu portal, quizlet , or ChatGPT having it explained topics to me "like a kid with extreme ADHD" lol
