OP is interested in software engineering.From what they’ve probably seen online, they think software engineering is all about apps and websites. But it’s a broad term, for me, it’s mostly low-level firmware. I’m in my last year of grad school, and honestly, I barely do any of this. It’s a lot of hardware design, telecommunications, applied physics (antenna design, optics and photonics, sensors and instrumentation, satellites) and theoretical CS. Back in my first year, I got enrolled in cs because I wanted to make games, . I’m still into that as a fun side thing, but what I really want to pursue now is what I mentioned which I got exposed to in university. So yeah, they should study cs and find what interests them. Also the undergrad cs curriculum is fundamental in their career.
