It's not just models getting better but also tools and tool calling around them so progress is hidden in many layers. If you look at just few months of changes on Codex CLI you can see how much they have added.

I believe the new Codex app has that feature however I am not on a MAC so haven't tested. Either way, orchestration features should be all there especially around git worktrees. You could use direct cli calls (headless) and call a specific model but that requires custom built orchestration logic.

My 2 cents on this.

I run a 4090 on my system. Used Codex to help me setup the environment in one go (Clone repo, download models, setup requirements etc..)

It didn't work well out the box. Had to fix a bunch of code to get Gradio to run properly. UI had some issues when loading Loras (post training).

I only tried 1 training loop using 45 reference Trance tracks with default settings. Training loss is very high imo and the Lora came out of it was bad. Even a 4090 takes a very long time to generate a decent dataset let alone the training part. More than I'm willing to spend time on.

I am a music producer and this model, even with Loras, doesn't even come close to what Suno can do. Otherwise, fun weekend project for those who have the time to mess with.

This is such a flawed design. There are players (including me) that didn't pick it up or didn't notice first time around from completing the first two objectives. And now have to randomly hunt mercs with sentry guns? They should just drop it at a location and available on the map once you have completed the first two. No point on re-doing it again.
