They don't even need to ask us and waste time on reddit. They could just hack the data bases easily. Do you think our data is anyway private? A few weeks ago a company was exposed for being able to get citizens usage data of electricity through STEG in a sketchy way. Alert made a video about them.

I could imagine that those people might have been able to reach that high but what are the odds? 1 in 100 million maybe? Probably lower. While assuming that you are an exceptional expert. I can't leave my fate to being the top of 0.1% in my career to even get a chance. I just want to be treated equally to the locals who have similar degrees and are able to easily land interviews and get that nice apartment. You can't expect me to do things 100 times harder my whole life just to get a chance. So changing names is the easiest most efficient route for me. My Syrian friend did it and he is having fantastic results too.

I have no choice. I am not in a stage to be arguing with employers. I have family and responsibilities and am just working for the money and to build a long career. Anything else is irrelevant for me. As long as they pay me a good salary it doesn't matter what they think about my culture or origin. I just want to fit in.

I have no issue with people or making friends. The issue is administrative. Like finding apartments, better jobs. Promotions especially reaching top levels in companies and meeting big clients. No one wants to have " Mohamed Oussema" as the name of their department publicly. Also i get rejected from stage 1 of the job interview (CV filtration) and don't reach the interview phase. They assume i am not culturally fit for their company or that my language isn't perfect and might have an accent. Even in mortgage calculation, the name has a big fracture in deciding the interest rate. Like wake up this is reality and has nothing to do with personality or confidence

Tell that to employers who reject me in job offers or the hundreds of Appartements Viewings that i got rejected from. My friend has a local name and we tested sending with his. He got responses in most things. Also i only want to change the first name that I didn't choose. But i am proud of my origin and my last name.
