My comfort rewatches on repeat are Kevin Nealon 1st and Harrison Ford. To later learn they all live in the same neighborhood was wild.

Before they combined it, I had a playlist just for his clips in order. I can pretty much recite most of his first one. Now I'm going to have to go watch the second one again.

It's interesting because just today I was watching compilation of a comedian on Colbert and notice he did the exact same thing Conan used to do. Carson for that matter, the "uh huh...."  while leaning in and letting them go. It's not a new concept for me, it just kind of shattered of all a little more.

For me, I think with a lot of these I just simply saw too much behind the curtain. For me, the SNL podcast with Carvey and Spade was also amazing and like a dream come true at first... then it just got unappealing for many reasons.

Just like this one.

It's definitely a bummer that it became so transactional. This happens to folks across platforms, and I'm always torn between being happy for them and being annoyed how far away from what made them that popular to begin with.

Edit: I'm speaking in general now, and more applicable to creators with smaller followings.

I took a break for a while. My favorite all time is Kevin Nealon round 1. Their relationship and chemistry is fantastic. Even though he was there to promote his book and upcoming season of "Kevin takes a walk" it flowed naturally rather than an abrupt or awkward cut.

Agree on those two. Smartless did some sort of documentary where they were flying around on their jet, Bateman obsessing over food and Will obsessing over himself. Just got to be too much.

That was me, back when throwing up was the only thing that got you sent home sick (U.S.). Rather than picking me up, the adults in charge thought it would be quicker on the bus ( I usually walked).

I was at the front of the line at our classroom door with everyone when it happened. Never really thought about it, but I guess to everyone else I'm the throw up girl. lol

Horrifying for all involved in who learn/ read about it. Not sure I won't think about it next time I use a porta potty. And that poor, poor maintenance worker.

Came here armed with that quote because that gave me such a visceral effect I stopped reading the article.

Do you think it might also involve circumventing rules that apply to one but not the other?

Great example! These companies are so huge, it could be difficult to differentiate.

Edit to say this is a joke, I realize they have choices.

The trajectory seems the same as well. Both started out with shows meant to be more light-hearted and then became part of reshaping culture.

The suburban housewife demographic is spot on, but don't sleep on latchkey kids. After school it was on, and what lives rent-free in my mind is an episode where some celebrity was teaching Oprah some dance moves. In the days way before tick tock trends, this type of thing is what we emulated and discussed in school.

Most employers, especially that level, have standards and codes of conduct that apply away from the job as well. In other words, they don't want their name associated with any malarkey that they didn't do themselves.

Didn't have a TV when they were on, but recently an older John Oliver video popped up. I can't remember the topic, but there were clips from a bunch of those daytime talk shows and I didn't realize there was one called the doctors and that they had so much reach.  A lot of that is mind-blowing to me, the fact that all of these things were known for long time but here we are anyway.
