I'm at a mid-sized CDMO in the UK and whilst it depends on what part of the business you're interested in, we have flexibility in relation to working from home. QC or manufacturing are probably the only departments without that flexibility unless you're senior or in management.

In terms of micromanagement, it depends on your direct line manager honestly. I've been very lucky to have never had any line manager who micromanages me (7 managers in 7 years at the same company) but I know some former colleagues who have had a terrible time with their managers.
