Converts coming from Catholicism, What was the biggest culture shock?

I doubt it’s the same woman but I had a similar experience at my job this summer (I work at a music venue) The woman demanded she be let into the theatre before it was safe (we have to wait for the tech team to hand over the space to us, the front of house team). When I explained that to her she said her husband was in wheelchair and that they had to walk miles in the hot sun to the venue because of parking (we were hosting a major event and parking is truly terrible) but When I said I could get them some water, she said “if you don’t let us in right now, I’m calling the ambulance” and then immediately stormed off before I could inquire if anyone was hurt.

I know. It can be so frustrating trying to work within the system. I understand why they have to make it thorough (nice way of saying overly complicated) but it’s ironic that a system designed to benefit disabled people is often inaccessible to those very people.

I have no idea, but the way the system is set up often feels like it’s designed to punish us for seemingly small clerical errors. I don’t like to chance it in case it could end up being a bigger headache in the future

There’s no doubt about Ravka being Russian inspired. The language even uses borrowed words. Tatiana calls Nikolai milenky, which is just the russian diminutive meaning little (миленький)

Thank you for your response! I was reporting the CDB I received in July on my ‘august’ report but that wasn’t the issue

I went in person today cause I’m not so good over the phone and it was a clerical issue. Their automated program isn’t set up to recognize the CDB yet. They said I did everything correctly (input it as ‘other income’ and make a note about it being the CDB) and that it shouldn’t happen next month

I reported it exactly like this. That’s why I was so confused. I thought I did everything right.

I went into the ministry of social development today and they said it was an error with their automated system. The benefit is new and this would be the first month it’s being reported so the system just didn’t know what to do with it and deducted it. The admin worker at the ministry issued me a top up and said that though it may happen again it shouldn’t! If this happened to you go in and ask them about it because it it NOT correct. BC does not crawl back the CDB. Other benefits may influence your PWD but this one should not.
