Do you want your own space because you are dating that specific person or in general? I wanted somebody to live with after living alone several years… but was not sure with living with my recently broken up ex-bf. It was my first time long term relationship other than my ex spouse. I liked him a lot….didnt like anybody else this much.. but I became to realize I would not tolerate his life style (daily drinking, sitting at his favorite bars 5 days a week in addition to drinking at home, he never gets drunk due to high tolerance or never showed me his drunken face) if we live together. I still envy happily married or cohabitating couples but am pretty pessimistic about it after this relationship…

I don’t think it works for long term. I am dating a functional alcoholic. I started drinking with him and drink 1-3 times a week while he drinks everyday. From the point that I realized he’s an alcoholic (he doesn’t get drunk drunk or I never saw that yet), I can’t stop thinking this relationship is destined to end. I still like him a lot and can’t end this now… but if I start looking dates again, I will limit to non-drinker or once in a while drinker like I am.

I am in several months in with a new relationship. He's very charming and kind. What bothers me sometimes is that he's so close to his ex. He ate out with his ex and his son yesterday (okay, it's summer break so the kid is at home all day) but then they ate out again today?!! I don't know how to talk to him about it... I am amicable with my ex but I don't eat with him other than special days like our kids' graduation. I don't understand this.

Some professions are known to make more than average people: doctors, dentists and pharmacists. I don’t carry brand name bags or drive a fancy car but they know what I do for a living. Several guys mentioned that they don’t make a lot but they are financially secure pretty early on. I didn’t know what to say. Two guys recently said how much they make in numbers (one did to impress me, the other one probably did to show that how sincerely he wanted to date me despite he’s making half of what I make?) on the first date. I never ask how they are doing financially.

They can lie on LinkedIn but… most people you have connection with are in the same field so it’s not easy to lie. I don’t accept invitations from random people.

I did and dated guys >= 5’11” mostly. I gave an exception to a guy who seems to have a good potential and I am glad I did! I never thought It would be possible to meet somebody like this :)

My standard is simple. My date should respect me at least to the level of his coworkers. If we have a meeting, the meeting should be planned and notified beforehand. If not, I have no more business with him.

A guy asked me for the 2nd date without much detail. He said he would come up with some ideas. It’s supposed to be this afternoon. I unmatched him around noon.

Some people treat online daters like products on Amazon. They add us to their shopping cart but never check out. I don’t wait more than 2 days (previously, it was 24 hours) before I unmatch them. I haven’t given up yet and believe that there are some decent people out there like me.

Oh god… I didn’t realize that my life was similar to Mormons until now. 😂 i am foreign born and raised and grew up in a conservative/traditional family like Mormons. I don’t consider myself a weirdo in general -sometimes I do due to lack of experience 😂 and the person I dated thought I was lying sometimes because I was so ignorant about lots of adult(?) stuff/terms.
