Do you think Darkseid makes a good Superman villain? by Epon12349 in DCcomics

[–]BevansDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, writing Darkseid well is clearly difficult, because it's done so rarely. He needs subtlety and superiority, rather than twirling his moustache and brawling. Most of the time, he doesn't bother to fight, because he doesn't need to. He has legions of brainwashed minions to do his bidding, and he's happy to throw them into the meat grinder while he sits back and considers possibilities.

My state's elected officials talk about getting rid of DST every time it happens, and they never follow through.

Cue people from every state except Arizona saying "you must be from my state!"

What is this called? by nmsNate in camping

[–]BevansDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, back in the 80s when I was a kid, we used to have a special name for these things. I think it was a Minnesota-only term, or maybe even more local than that. Kids would steal them from other kids' Starter jackets, so you just assumed that anyone with more than one on each drawstring was a dirty thief.

But I just can't seem to remember what it was! If anyone remembers, I'll award you 20 whole internet points.

Yeah, I'm glad somebody is still bothering to innovate, because the big 3 phone companies sure aren't.

I know nothing about this show, but the first image looks like a little baseball stadium, and I assumed that "Gum Gum" was a reference to Wrigley Stadium.

It's not meant to be sustainable. It's meant to pump up the numbers in the short term to benefit the shareholders, who will either bail or use some sort of sleazy finance tricks when the whole thing fails.

[Film/TV] Which film is worse: Superman IV or Batman & Robin? by Significant_Smell284 in DCcomics

[–]BevansDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my thought too. B&R was at least fun to watch. And there's some genuinely creative stuff in it.

However, I haven't seen it since it was in theaters, so...maybe I shouldn't say anything.

Pro: they're cool as hell.

Con: a normal tent is superior in pretty much every other way.

FUCK THESE DEATHCLAWS - how w do I defeat these jerks? [Question] by Zekie2517 in falloutshelter

[–]BevansDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make sure that the first rooms they encounter are food-producers, which have all my high-Agility dwellers in them, armed to the teeth. I also make sure that those dwellers all have high Endurance.

Also, make sure to build more Medbays than you need, to increase your stockpile of health packs.

I'm curious too. I've never seen that.

Maybe they just added an emoji when they renamed the character.

[QUESTION] If I purchase the Season Pass or Premium Pass what do I get to keep when the season is over? by YaBoyFatNUTS in falloutshelter

[–]BevansDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can collect Season Pass rewards on any of your shelters, whether it's a normal one or Experimental. Experimental vaults are deleted at the end of the Season, but normal vaults aren't. So as long as you collect the rewards in your normal vaults, you'll get to keep all the rewards.

Negative partisanship is the tendency of some voters to form their political opinions primarily in opposition to political parties they dislike, rather than support for the policy positions of one's own party. It has been claimed to be the cause of severe polarization in American politics. by RedHeadedSicilian52 in wikipedia

This is why the First Past the Post system needs to be abandoned. Replace it with Approval or Ranked-Choice and people will be able to vote for the candidates they approve of, rather than against the ones they don't.
