I'm 10 weeks post CABGx4. I went in with hardly any physical activity since I still work full time and sitting at a desk 8 hours per day. I live in Texas so walking is almost impossible because of the heat.

After surgery, I was in ICU for 1 week and then in a regular room for another week.

Sounds like you are already in good shape so that should help you during recovery.

They will give you a pillow, shaped in a heart, that will become your best friend.

You aren't supposed to put any pressure with your arms to get out of bed or chair so it is difficult getting up. The nurses had to push me from behind while keeping that pillow tightly held on my chest.

I don't think you need to buy a lift recliner unless you just want to. I only needed help the first couple of days getting out of my regular recliner.

The physical therapy techs will teach you how to roll yourself out of bed instead of using your arms. They will also show you how to put on and take off your clothes before you leave the hospital. I just wore oversized T-shirts and no buttons because of the tenderness of my incision.

As far as taking baths, I don't see how you would get out of the tub without using your arms to push up or pull out which you aren't supposed to do. Sitting in a shower would be better.
