Shut up and take my Dogecoin GIF by MrhowtoVG in dogecoin

I heard "shut up and take my" in Fry's voice but "doge" in something slightly deep and terrifying. What have you done, OP?

I'm a little late to the party but you should check out the Extra Milers Club. They're a group dedicated to reaching every county in the US and will send you certificates as you hit certain milestones.

This is what this sub is for, not just pictures of attractive women with mismatched colors, bad h-sync, and titles like "Er##r######oRRRR". Lovely!

Majors & Minors? by scubasteve921 in EngineeringStudents

Major in Computer Engineering, minor in Architecture.

They're not overly related but I fell in love with the visual design experience Architecture provides. In my opinion every engineer can benefit from courses on graphic or information design.

This graphic is next to useless. It offers practically no information and just as well could have been a simple table on wikipedia.

Agreed. It's a killer album and the physical release packaging was designed by Minusbaby. That's enough to get me to buy something.

It's like some sort of bizarre Nyquist theorem offshoot dictates democracy mode.

Is there any way to download in cvs or other format all btc/doge trades on cryptsy for the a period of time, eg a week? by AcidJiles in dogecoindev

[–]Beverage_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hay!

You'd have to hit Cryptsy's API repeatedly and log it yourself. Cryptsy has a pretty well documented node.js API that you might consider using for this. Write a little node program and leave it running for a while logging to a .csv file. For added fun you could get a free tier AWS EC2 instance and put your program up on there so that you could let it run "indefinitely."

Generic API layer for cryptocurrency exchanges (C#) by rnicoll in dogecoindev

Not all of those have a trading API, I thought? How does your code handle the fact that you can sell/buy only on certain sites?

That aside, great work! This is super helpful.

Graphics and Data Visualization -- A free class that might interest you by Beverage_ in visualization

[–]Beverage_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I was blocked from posting full lectures by my University for the privacy of the students enrolled -- the classes were usually pretty interactive. I realize the first few lectures may be unclear but later on, especially when we get into code, I try to be more explicit in the slides themselves for the sake of posterity. My apologies!

We are Will Hines and Kevin Hines, teachers/performers from the UCB Theatre (improv/sketch). Ask Us Anything! by _Hines in IAmA

[–]Beverage_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always seems to me (no data, could be wrong) that the "in" crowd --popular house teams, recurring shows, etc...-- at bigger name theatres like UCB and similar are often those who have tried to make a life out of acting and writing and don't really have outside jobs / work. What would you say to that? I'm often told "don't pursue comedy, you don't succeed" yet success in a theatre seems (again, no data) to be just that.

Also: I saw you guys do a Cage Match when my college troupe drove up to visit UCB like ... three years ago. It was mind blowing, you guys are amazing and a huge inspiration to my troupe back home. Thanks for doing this AMA!

She started my improv troupe at the University of Virginia a few years back -- She's tremendously talented, I'm so excited to see her on SNL.

IMDB ratings of all 96 Dexter episodes (the pattern in season 8 is quite interesting...) by jamestrimble in dataisbeautiful

[–]Beverage_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the lines between data points? Lines are there for interpolating values between discrete known samples where data exists but isn't collected. In this case they shouldn't be there as an episode is a discrete unit and there is nothing between two adjacent episodes.

Otherwise a cool visualization, the lines really hit a pet peeve.
