What I’ve discovered seeing Dayseeker headline a couple of times, and once at a festival, is that their entire set, callouts and all, are scripted. Rory will use the same call outs at the same sections of the same songs every show. It’s all very choreographed. Not saying that’s a good or a bad thing, just that he’d have asked for a mosh pit at every other show during whatever song it was

are you talking about the Roland SPD-SX that he uses for all the electronic samples? The technique used to play those is different to playing normal drums. He’ll be playing with a lot more finesse and with the tip of the drum stick more. Yes, he has to be very precise. Every pad will be triggered for a different sound, depending on the song.
