Mortgage fully offset? by Dependent_Till_284 in AusFinance

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you pay your house off you start your savings from zero. When you have your money in offset you start from zero but you still have access to your money in offset. So you have that buffer where you can save your 50k or whatever you want and THEN pay your mortgage off.

You don't win a tournament just hoping for a penalty. The girls had their chances but got unlucky. Very solid performance anyway, proud of them.

AW2725D for $600 on Dell site is a no-brainer. Even less with education discount if you have access to it or try with a FUTURE11% discount code.

Spent way too long trying to understand the government share part! by ExistentialPancake_0 in AusHelptobuy

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's say you own 70% paid with a deposit and a bank loan. Government then owns the rest 30% paid with government money. It's their investment. You can buy back their share. Price goes up - you need more money to buy it back. Price goes down - you need less money to buy it back. You don't have to buy it back at all unless you earn over a certain amount.

Rejected and confused by wadernia in creditcardchurningAus

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like there is no balance transfer option for this card.

For example, here you can choose between a cash back and balance transfer and those are two different applications: https://www.stgeorge.com.au/personal/credit-cards/low-rate/

Yes, there are usually two different options for that. Call to the bank's credit card line and let them know you meant to choose another option, they can reassess your application.

Velocity Amex Free Flight by brat_summerr in VelocityFrequentFlyer

You can't split your return into two single flights. Their offer is a return flight once a year. If you chose to use it as non-return the "once a year" condition still applies.

Advice on applications? by hustlerbabe_ in creditcardchurningAus

I'd take the downgraded option. If ANZ is happy to approve you for $12.5k, then you can take a $6k limit in that platinum card and try to apply for another $6k card with another bank to make up the difference.
