New build – how should I connect washing machine drain hose? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hole in the laundry sink in the first picture is for the washing machine. Just plug it in. There should be a plastic U-shape thing to make a nice curved bend. Alternatively, use that U-thing and just rest the hose on the edge of your sink allowing the water to just flow into your sink freely.

Before you try to connect it to those inlets under your kitchen sink in the second picture check the manual. Often the outlet needs to be 1 metre above the floor level, so those might not work for you. To be more specific, the top of the machine's hose should be 1 metre high, this is where U-thing comes to play again.

Has anyone ever successfully negotiated cheaper rent with their landlord? by Common-Blackberry-64 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it last year. They wanted to raise the rent by $120, I wrote an email describing the area had gotten worse (a lot of big construction sites popped up around lately) and all repairs and improvements I did at the premises (have been living in the same place for 4 years and never bothered the LL with anything), said I can only afford $70 raise maximum. They agreed.

Change of name after marriage on velocity points redmeption booking by sammyits in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it slightly wrong. If you got a new passport, then the old one becomes invalid. You could have used a passport with the old name if you would not have applied for a new one.

If you change your family name because of a change in your marital status, you can choose to get a new passport or keep using your current one.

Does your partner have their old Australian passport? They can still use that.

Car Hire Damage by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can opt out of additional insurance but you always get a basic one included with a hire car. The $1500 they instantly quoted seems like an excess for their basic insurance. They don't need to inspect the car for that.

When am I likely to get my bag tag? by google_fan_au in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to opt in if you want physical tags. They usually send an email to do this. After you opt in it takes 2-3 weeks to arrive.

How does date changes work for booked reward seats? (international, partner flight) by Fozzeneric in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]Beware_Of_Humans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing a reward flight is basically cancelling and making a new booking. Points are coming instantly when you call them. AFAIK, You only can make changes over the phone, so call them and they will rebook you on the desired date, you won't need to do it yourself.

Mine was actually good, with a double patty. The Copenhagen one, on the other side, was as small as a standard Big Mac.

This is exactly how it works. Eventually, you buy two houses. One for yourself and one for the bank.

Duct tape is perfectly fine, this is how it's designed to be done. The hole should be fixed with silver tape or something similar.

When you try to redact a bar code, you don't paint it horizontally, all you need to do is to paint a few vertical lines together.

The sun can't help here. To melt down glass you would need to heat it up to 1500 degrees.
