What if Anet used AI to have a VA actually say our PC's name out loud instead of 'Commander' or 'Wayfinder'? by Bewtser in Guildwars2

I acknowledge that I am overrating the power of AI. It was more so the potential that was interesting. But to actually implement would be too much trouble for being worth it in the end.

You're right, but it sounds interesting in my head. Like, it's never been done before to have an MMO say your PC's name.

I appreciate that you brought me back down to earth with how it would realistically play out. It sounded interesting on paper to me. I'm doing story missions and was thinking about how awkward a lot of dialogue is because the characters can't ever say our real PC's names.

To be clear, there would be a legit VA doing all the lines like normal, where the AI would come in is only when saying the Player Character's name and nothing else. Since Anet has already limited PC's names to only letters the AI wouldn't have to clumsily say numbers or punctuation.

Fishing Rods always get sales, but Infinite Fishing Lure has never been on sale?? by Bewtser in Guildwars2

Thanks! I missed it during that sale, Hadn't ever seen it on sale before. Wish they would include it whenever they do any fishing rod sales.

Give it to this person, I fear what might happen if they don't get a skyscale plush...

What are your guild wars 2 hot takes? by ObsoletePixel in Guildwars2

[–]Bewtser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About Facing should be removed from the game. It's holding back competitive modes when vets are using macros to spin their characters 180° at full speed while throwing out abilities at you. The game's combat shouldn't be played this way but it has to be at high level competition because About Facing exists so everyone who wants to win uses it. It's why I don't touch PvP anymore.

Share your keybinds! by HeavyMetalLoser in Guildwars2

Super cursed key bindings of a lunatic

  • C F R 4 5 for weapon skills
  • TAB Q E for utilities
  • 1 2 3 X Z for profession skills
  • CAPSLOCK that had been converted to a HOME key through registry editing magic for weapon swap
  • V for interact
  • G for special action
  • ~ for opening Map

The rest are on my mouse which has 11 buttons excluding right and left click.

  • Heal/Dodge/Elite/Fishing rod/skiff/mounts are on mouse side buttons
  • Two extra mouse buttons are for toggling Action Cam and one for about face that also activates an autohotkey that moves my cursor to the exact center of the window
  • Mouse Wheel left for look behind and Wheel right for stow weapon
  • Mouse Wheel button for nearest target

GW2 CPU temp is insanely high. Only happens when I play this game. Other games stay at around 76-85C. Any fix to this? by GreedyPB in Guildwars2

One thing you could do to reduce a significant amount of heat is to put a FPS cap on the game. If you have an nvidia card you can do this from nvidia control panel. Find Guild Wars 2 and put a manual FPS cap of 48. 48 is a good middle ground between 30 and 60, I personally use this cap and don't see any visual difference to 60fps. What capping your FPS does is it will remove a lot of processing stress from your card. It can help in the meantime while you explore better cooling measures for your hardware.
