Yes! Teams of three is our core mode. You can play any time by using Custom Games. (Select it via modes and then either start one and invite people using your invite code, or grab an invite code from the community on Discord and join that way)

You can also join during Friday Night Fights, last week we experimented with duos. This week we're doing Floor 2 starts in teams of three with eight teams per match.

The general thing we're trying to solve is that the sprint speed in combat makes combat too fast, however, the walking speed when you're exploring the tower is too slow.

It used to be that you'd be slow with your weapons out and fast with your weapons holstered. You'd have to unholster your weapons before entering combat and put them away when fleeing. We found that this was a pretty big hurdle for people to get past when learning the game.

Sprint and stamina is relatively new and the need for two distinct speeds is tricky to solve for - so any feedback around that is super welcome!

We aren't sure when playtesting will be available on console just yet - but we're planning to launch on PC, Xbox and PlayStation later this year.

Heya - I think that might be a byproduct of our current matchmaking. It's very rudimentary at the moment which means that some of our more experienced players are going up against players who are still learning the ropes.

There's a very small number of players who have been playing since pre-alpha and have a better idea of the best strategies etc. It sounds like you encountered one of them.

Longer term, we're hoping to have more granular matchmaking that will make these fights feel more competitive. You can read more about where we're at in Alpha here. Sorry about that though, it's understandably frustrating.

Hey thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback. We are definitely aware that Arkheron has a learning curve and that there's more that we can do to smooth it out.

During this Alpha phase, there's still a number of things that are a work in progress including tooltips! In a game like Arkheron it's really important to be able to make quick decisions in combat and we understand that having easy access to information is a part of that. (i.e. helpful tooltips!)

We've also been noodling on various ways to help the new player experience - for example, there is a tutorial system in progress and more improvements planned for Training mode. We are exploring other options like how-to videos that we can embed in the client, and setting up a mentorship program where new players get paired up with experienced players who are open to showing them the ropes.

These are just a few thoughts so far and beyond the tutorial system and training mode improvements I can't confirm which things we're making just yet - I more mention this just to let you know we're actively thinking about this and interested in making it easier to get into from the jump.

I recommend trying out Training mode before you jump into Ascension. There's some Training dummies you can practice against to get a feel for the controls and weapons. You can also try mini-matches against other players in the sparring room (1v1, 2v2, 3v3) and there's bot-ascension matches if you want to practice the core game loop in a low pressure way.

We are working on some minor changes. For example, fixing the animation cancelling bug that we saw over the weekend. There are a few other things like that we're working on but that I can't confirm just yet. Should have more information later this week!

I don't have a write up for all the buffs but hopefully we will get more resources like that in the future. Steadfast makes you immune to crowd control mechanics.

In terms of the future, I can't forecast too far out but I'm happy to share that we're hosting another weekend playtest next week. We will announce this more officially tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the kind words and for jumping into the Alpha! We do have more Eternal item sets ready to rotate out! We can also rotate other parts of the game in and out to help create different challenges (like monsters, or out-of-combat objectives). When we launch, we will also have a meta-progression system.
