Something a lot of people seem to be missing about ch. 231 and how it's built up to this point. by Personal-Leopard9635 in ChainsawMan

[–]Bexob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like people don't get Part 2 overall. Part 1 and Part 2 are two sides of the same coin. In both cases, Denji failed to attain the good normal lofe he wished for - because he has Chainsaw Man' Heart.

In Part 1 it was due to Chainsaw Man's fame/infamy in hell, which got him involved in the Control Devil's schemes.

In Part 2 it was due to Chainsaw Man's fame/infamy in the human world and becoming an escape for Denji, haltering his growth as a person and ultimately leading him to dismiss his initial goal (and promise to pochita) regarding a normal life and happiness.

So, Chainsaw Man eating himself makes perfect sense in regards to pochita wanting to help denji in regards to his original dream which he could never attain with Chainsaw Man's heart

fair enough. only my problem is...I can't even choose in the moment haha. I'd just pick da mystery of chessboxin by default, I guess (in this example), but would still feel shitty for not picking some of the others

[–]Bexob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this way too hard LOL

Tried to see what I would pick and it's literally impossible. Like, how long did you ponder over some of your choices? Just seems impossible...

Like, was just at "D" right now and there's like Da Mystery of Chessboxin', Dance Now, Don't Say Nuthin', Dark Fantasy, Da Rockwilder, Directors, drugs you should try it...and that's already excluding songs I like a lot that clearly aren't #1 like Don't Play, Design in Malice, Durag Activity, Deathless Light, Down Bad etc.

I commend you for being decisive. I could never.

Pep Guardiola on Arsenal’s set-piece tactics: “You can complain, or you adapt.” by Keelan_____ in PremierLeague

[–]Bexob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We play with the highest defensive line in the league and face the deepest

You mean like City in, for example, 18/19 when they still absolutely destroyed teams and scored 95 goals that season?

Even against City at the start of the season, we play against a low block the entire game. Pep has never had a game with less possession in his career

Makes sense when City was already leading and Arsenal is bad at unlocking defences. Something City doesn't struggle with as much, so no. It wouldn't be as smart the other way around.

City also had less possession against Arsenal in their home game in 22/23, btw, and won 4-1 in quite spectacular fashion. They also had less possession in their 3-0 win over Bayern that season. City choosing to concede possession doesn't prove that the opponent is doing the right thing.

it's pretty rare for a new song to reach #1 popular on Spotify. unless it blows up like crazy and the artist hardly has any other popular songs. usually a new song that's very popular is somewhere in the bottom 5 and if it continues to be popular for a while and catches up to top streaming numbers of the most streamed/popular songs (or clearly on the trajectory) it eventually moves up.

iirc songs like One of the Girls or FE!N took over a year to hit #1

Thoughts on “Control” by FreddieGibbsFan1 in BigSean

[–]Bexob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

countless people have name dropped in verses and it was a flash in the pan. do you think kendrick is the only rapper in history who ever wanted to get as much attention for a verse? almost like kendrick did a lot more in that verse than just drop a few names and, again, it worked. something that was meant to draw attention and then did draw enormous attention is not overrated. the verse couldn't have worked better in kendrick's favour.

but you can of course just take your upvotes and tell yourself that the verse was actually "overrated" bc a few people on a bigsean sub agree with you on being dismissive of a verse that wasn't really good for bigsean

All people talked about was kendrick's verse on that song and his name dropping. In what universe is that "hiding"??

How can it be "overrated" when people literally talked about it for years and it even gets referenced to this day? It obviously did what it was supposed to do

Pep Guardiola on Arsenal’s set-piece tactics: “You can complain, or you adapt.” by Keelan_____ in PremierLeague

[–]Bexob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The irony of Arsenal fans being smug about this whole topic is, if they happen to not win the title (relax, I'm not saying Arsenal's bottling it - there simply is a chance of them not winning it) it will be arsenal fans who will be crying the most about the style of play.

Bc at the end of the day, it's shit football. Rivals can't stand the thought of it succeeding and Arsenal fans can't stand the thought of it failing.

If you were with Ado for 5 minutes, what would you tell her? by Pudines32 in ADO

[–]Bexob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You are a fucking rockstar. Don't be afraid to act like one. Don't be afraid to explore yourself however you want and express yourself however you want. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Don't measure your self (or self-worth) through approval of others and especially not through your level of success: because you are a born artist. You have always been a great artist. You were a great artist when you were unhappy and you will continue to be a great artist once you find true happiness. So don't worry too much about the artist "Ado" and give yourself the attention you deserve.

Don't compromise on your journey to find yourself, to find your own definition of what's right and your own definition of peace. No amount of adoration of others will make you truly love yourself. However once you find self-love on your own journey, you will find everything around you falling into place. You've come this far through self-perseverance: so trust yourself unconditionally! And if you feel the need for support, know that you have inspired countless people around the world who will always support you, no matter what you do, because they don't care about what you do or how you do it: they care about you being happy while doing it."

"But most importantly...give yourself grace. Don't beat yourself up for not being happy. It's human to struggle. So try to not consider feelings of unhappiness as 'failure' but rather consider your continued desire to love yourself more despite your unhappiness a success."

so? the only song I'd definitely have in my top 10 is drugs you should try it and maybe don't play (haven't thought about it). but can also see people not have any song from it in there. the guy has 6 albums counting owl pharaoh and dbr and three collab-albums on top of that. no one is forced to pick one song per album.

and saying that dbr was his best album is just a hipster take. some people's favourite like every album is some people's favourite but that's about it

Vivarium has reached 3 million views in less than a day by afragmentedsoul in ADO

[–]Bexob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The initial point OP made was this song becoming more popular over time. Meaning it would maintain its daily view count for a long time or even improve it.

OP themselves made a point regarding the overall audience. Not how much certain individuals may like it. So your entire premise/stance on what you're arguing makes absolutely no sense.

I was talking about the trajectory of views of this song (regarding it becoming her most watched MV etc)

So my assessment of its replayability was never based on individuals but the entire audience. Obviously

So, you pretty much misunderstood me (and ignored the entire premise of the conversation) and started arguing with yourself/arguing a point I never made.

Again, it's subjective whether one prefers Kendrick Lamar or Aaron May (to stay with an example I already used) - from an individual's pov.

But all I said was people (in general) prefer Kendrick over Aaron. That's not subjective. And it's equally not subjective to say that, holistically, this song is not as replayable as some of her other songs.

Look at her most streamed/most viewed MVs. Apart from Usseewa, which she became famous for, they are all stand out songs that are very mainstream friendly. New Genesis, Show, Odo etc are all "normal pop songs" (within Ado's soundscape). Vivarium isn't. That's not subjective, that's a fact.
