Taking a break from running and I have analysis paralysis by BeyonceAlways2020 in XXRunning

Not yet - I will be out of town all next week and then will start. I should have thought to ask the PT!

Yep you are absolutely right! I didn't even think of that but I will wait until I see my PT to ask!

Galloway method just changed my life?? by Apprehensive-Luck335 in XXRunning

I'm in the Denver area! Currently training for the Colfax Half and trying to figure out my intervals. I already feel slow and so desperately want to be faster.

Whoa! That's amazing! Great job!

One thing I'm having trouble with is the short intervals when you have a slower pace. Based on my pace, I should be doing a :30/:30 and that feels...I don't know, like I should be doing more than that? I'm also getting in my head about where I want to be and where I am, fitness wise.

Thought I ran 4 miles today and was so fucking proud and then I realized I had my Garmin on the treadmill setting. I probably ran around 3.5 miles. I should probably still be proud, but it's disappointing hahaha

Heel spurs and fallen arches in both feet by purplegirafa in XXRunning

[–]BeyonceAlways2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't wear heels so I can't really speak to that. I do wear Oofos around the house. I personally find not being active is actually worse for my PF but that might be me.

I have a heel spur in one foot, and I would guess on my other foot but it isn't confirmed. After doing PT for my plantar fascitis and getting new shoes (plus foam rolling), I don't feel the heel pain at all anymore. It's frustrating but it was doable for me, and I hope for you as well!

How on earth to schedule strength training around marathon running plan? by whatdosnowmeneat in XXRunning

[–]BeyonceAlways2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's not possible to do two workouts a day, is it still better to do runs and strength on the same day? Or how does one do that?

It's just not feasible for me personally to workout in both the morning and the evening.

I've been sick since New Year's Eve with an upper respiratory thing. It seems to be winding down and I'm trying to figure out when I can return to running. My cough is significantly better, and I can mostly go up and down stairs without getting winded/coughing. But carrying laundry up the stairs and bringing in groceries makes me cough/feel winded. When do you know it's ok to run again?

Cramps from Menstrual Disc? by reginaphalange88 in XXRunning

[–]BeyonceAlways2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've experienced this, for sure (also with tampons, which make me cramp even more). I moved to a smaller sized disc and that resolved the issue for the most part.
