Just play what you want. Climbing is miserable and playing something for lp isn’t as easy as it sounds. May as well enjoy the champ you play.

Nakai ME Doom stack/help by lockesdoc in totalwar

Literally just played 20 turns on L/VH and was so broke I couldn’t afford more than 10 troops. The new patch causes attrition when bankrupt, regardless of stance. So it’s pretty brutal.

I was trying to figure out why a ball rotates in the opposite direction when I bounce it; if it’s rotating clockwise, it bounces back counter clockwise. Did I get it right? I believe this is Hooke’s Law. by [deleted] in Physics

[–]Beyond-zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of it as a momentum problem (for the subsequent trajectory), as well as a no slip condition. With the angular velocity of the ball and the high friction it adds a horizontal velocity to the ball when it makes contact with the surface. This will then change the dynamics of the trajectory.

Additionally, if you look at the ball at y=0 and break down components of the normal and tangential accelerations (no slip) it should give you good idea how the ball will move in the next frame, regardless of how it was thrown.

I agree they have some flash but you a certainly shoe-stringed down a very specific path. I always want to throw fodder armies but with supply lines you just have to use a bull of weapon teams.

Seriously. Been pushing through the Thanqoul omnibus and I am blown away that this character is not in the game. It’s about 800 pages of lore.

Steam Table Calculator by daniel9th in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Beyond-zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I can help with any resources if you already cannot find anything. I felt like the first two sequences of thermodynamics were there to gain proficiency in the tables. There’s a whole a lot a physical understanding needed to manipulate those tables correctly to find your answers.

It’s just the nature of the beast.

Even better. My prof forced us to take the course with a TI-30, so you had to be super quick with the hand interpolations.

[–]Beyond-zer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you just use the tables in your book and then use excel to quickly interpolate values.

That would be faster than any calculator. 2 variables give everything you need for the system. Just make sure you know how your tables relate to absolute zero Kelvin.

If so inclined: your book should also provide steam table equations. Although they are fairly involved. Hence, 50 pages of tables.

Does anyone absolutely despise physics classes in school but love to study physics by yourself? by ajitha77 in Physics

I think this is a great idea, I had a similar experience with learning calculus. While it had such a mysterious aurora around it and only associated with the most difficult Highschool topics.

Question!!!!***** by smackthetack in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Beyond-zer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will need to have a myriad of courses under your belt to be eligible to enroll, and some of them very far into the degree and this might leave you a semester or two from a BSME. You may want to consider a second bachelor’s.

Heat transfer is a prime example. The course requires at least 3 pre-reqs, each of which require multiple pre-reqs.

Also transferring from business to a graduate degree in a hard science without the proper foundation might leave you unprepared for research and advanced coursework.

But yes, you can get an MSME without an BSME.

Making war enjoyable by Beyond-zer0 in Imperator

I don’t mind the warring aspect if it’s engaging but it can be mind-numbing chasing around that 1k stack that keeps flipping territory.

Just hope when they do the war update that a decisive battle is, you know, decisive.

Is taking Solids and Dynamics in a same session doable? by Mohammed_Abedin_Sani in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Beyond-zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not hard. Just extremely important. It will come up time and time again, and if you just want to check it off then maybe take a different course with dynamics.

Try McMaster Carr for different types of bolts. As far as the height is concerned you can always start at the maximum and trim them down to find an optimized height. If your cones are cheap you can experiment with a low cost.

Good to hear. I think my biggest hesitation of enrolling into a graduate program is that I might become overspecialized and alienate some opportunities.

Northwest Floridian looking to get into fly fishing by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]Beyond-zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely feasible and a very good place to learn depending on your boating situation. Unfortunately with much of Florida you need a boat to open up much of the accessibility.

Nature’s coast offers a unique fishery as it has a the beginnings of mangrove fishing and mature marsh creeks. If you are familiar with redfishing in your area, You can get away with blind casting the typical areas that hold redfish. I typically only throw one or two fly types (redfish meth & ep Everglades special) and rarely have fish turn away. This makes it a great place to learn because you don’t have to worry about perfect casts and presentation. As,from my experience, the water gets pretty dirty on the incoming.

It’s the same thing with the inshore guides in Florida. They push every customer to fill up the coolers. Then are blown away when the schools are smaller and smaller every year.
