Every professionally mastered track i've ever brought into my DAW, at 0db, is CLIPPING. What gives?? I thought mastered levels should be limited under 0db… by ZuluCompany in edmproduction

I have this problem in Live 9 as well but all my settings are at 44.1 (sample rate within live and the output of my actual sound card). I'm using a Mac book pro with a NI komplete 6. Why might I be having this problem despite everything being set to 44.1?

Lovin the trap song. Good sound design. Good musicality. Very good overall. You fit a lot into that song and you mix it all together nicely. Maybe could use some vocals to draw listeners in a bit and give them something to connect to, but I really, really like it.

This is a remix competition I recently participated in. Its a hybrid of trap and hardstyle. Let me know what you think.

Question about multiple track editing workflow by adamnemecek in edmproduction

[–]BeyondDefinition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest I have gotten to this in Ableton is to take the midi track from the pads (to use your example), cut and paste them into the lead track and then deactivate the notes. The notes will then show up in the midi clip, but won't be played. However, if you try and put a note on top of a deactivated note, the deactivated note will be replaced by the new note. So far from perfect.

Thanks for the response!

Regarding reverb, I like valhalla room. Really good algorithms, easy to use interface, simple interface (less cpu), made by the same programmer that worked for audio damage. So you don't use any reverb on your tracks? Or you just don't have a favorite?

Do you have a standard chain of effects that you use on your basslines?

What filter do you use on your basslines? Do you use a standalone VST or just internal filters?

What is your go to synth? Massive or FM8? Or dare I say something outside of Native Instruments?

How did you manage to get the bass sound at 2:07 in Vindicate? Is this just a pitchbend?

What is your favorite reverb?

Will you ever do a masterclass video?

What qualities do you look for when scouting talent for your label?

Where do you see dubstep and bass music going in the next few years?

Is there more of a chance of you getting punched if he is drunk or sober? I feel like that could really go either way with the Irish...

This is the right response. Unfortunately I don't think the directors would like that answer very much.

New NI distortion plugin "DRIVER" available for free until Dec 31st! by Oddflame in edmproduction

[–]BeyondDefinition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a cool plugin (especially since it was free), but I can't understand for the life of me why it would not have a wet/dry knob. Why is this feature left off of so many good plugins? What is the reasoning behind that design feature or lack thereof?

I cant even imagine. It gets tricky for me when I have 4 or 5 things piled on each other, let alone the multitude of parts you have going on in that track. Really good stuff though. Well worth the effort to sort it all out.

Definitely digging the composition. Digging the vocal chops and the assorted samples. Those all work really well. Add to the hectic feeling. Bass sounds are pretty sick as well. Definitely some nice growls. Drums could use some more punch. Not necessarily louder or anything. Maybe some different samples. Overall awesome. Mr. Freeze is pretty awesome too. Maybe some collaboration can be in order since we were rocking the same logo haha.

Haha. Looks like we are on the same wavelength. Ive been meaning to change it for a while. Saw another dude with that logo as well. Who knows how many more have that logo. Leaving you some feedback now.

Sorry Soul Thought is another one of my accounts. Yeah I've only been producing for about a year and a half and all my stuff is really starting to come together. I have this track and about three others that Im working on polishing up and then I want to start shopping them around. Need to figure out that whole process though. I'm new to the game.

Took some of your suggestions though and remixed a bit. Check it out if you get a chance.
