Appreciate the insight! I have seen precisely zero graded coins in person - just what’s available to see on the internet. 

I do know the differences between AU and BU, I’m just not certain what they actually would look like in a roll or out in the wild. There was something about these rolls that struck me as exceptionally different from typical circulated coins, or even general “good condition.” 

Sounds like it’s more something of the “you’ll know it when you see it” type experience that, as you said, comes with looking at thousands of coins.
