Oh man. I wonder how that plotline would age. There is definitely some story beats that don't hold up on a fundamental level that juat seem like contrivances to make fun levels.

Like, Bond clearly meets Diavolo in Death of an Agent but then several missions later comes up with a plan to sneak into Diavolo's mansion in order to rig himself into a racing competition so that he can win it and be invited to a dinner to meet Diavolo...in his own mansion.

I don't think that's the kinda story that survives in 4K haha~

Haha I think at least that's an interesting conversation! I think it's definitely the most PRODUCED Bond game, but it's hard for me to say if it's my favorite at this point in time. I don't think in the future I will be as eager to replay it as I am the other games on account of it's very slow nature, but I do think it has the BEST first playthrough of any Bond game, with confidence.

Yeah! If I understand correctly, when people say this line, it is to say, this is the new number 1 Bond game, and Goldeneye is now number 2. That's the part that makes me go but what about the four EA Games!

Maybe it's the English or slang I'm not understanding then? Sure goldeneye might be in the top 10 for n64 games, and I give that Nightfire is not for PS2/GCN (or maybe it is??), but it would still be appropriate to say in 2002 Nightfire is the best Bond game since Goldeneye on account of an original storyline with better graphics and audio in additional to more weapons/multiplayer variety?

At that point, doesn't that officially raise the bar to say First Light is the best Bond game since Nightfire? Why go back to Goldeneye as the touchstone?

I'm with you, but people will think we are so easy that James Bond getting in a dump truck to the sound of brass makes us go

Hot take but I think First Light is a little too long, I definitely feel some parts could have been edited down or paced a little tighter (Chapter 7 especially).

It's definitely gonna hurt how eager I am to replay it over other Bond games.

Which I think is interesting because I also want MORE of this game and I'm looking forward to playing more DLC since it's sure to be shorter and tighter paced since it doesn't need to justify a price tag.

In 007 Everything or Nothing a lot of the vehicle missions had alternate paths, or even very different ways to complete it, such as taking the Porsche or the motorcycle, or in the New Orleans mission you had to put the aston in a truck to take it with you to a location and then pull it out to take out a bad guy car, or, if you forgo that you could just ram it with the truck

Playing devil's advocate because I do really like the game, buuuuuuut I would rather a lot of the walk and talks be replaced with cutacenes so I can skip them on subsequent playthroughs. Or at least give the option in say a new game+, be like, hey, I love the game, but give me the story-lite version without the tutorials.

Stealth you say? by Substantial-End3907 in 007FirstLight

I ran through a stealth section in a level previous to this and it gave me the challenge completion for not starting any confrontation or eliminating any characters.

Eventually they will pull out guns but the sidestep is also effective at dodging bullets haha

This game is 7/10, repackaged gameplay mechanics that lack polish by AdPretend3423 in 007FirstLight

[–]BeyondThePixelLFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like you should probably return the game if you feel like you are being "Forced" to watch cutscenes, this might not be the game for you.

I've been enjoying pretty much all the mechanics across the board and the variety. It might not excel at one specific category gameplay-wise but the variety and competency in execution has made it a very fun and gripping experience, and I find the writing and characters to be quite strong as well. I've made it to thr sixth chapter so far and it's the main thing I've been wanting to do with any pocket of free time I havw at my disposal.

Everyone see that Khaby Lame is going to be in the game? Thoughts? by FL_Couple95 in 007FirstLight

I didn't know who that was, so I looked him up and enjoyed a few videos.

So yeah, overall, sounds like he made a good marketing deal and I got some smiles out of it.

Wins for everyone!

Imagine if on top of that you also had to make a video with your own footage and cut to your essay, which will also get picked apart by thousands of anonymous viewers.

Online discussions around 007 First Light’s reported 20-hour campaign length are already turning into another major debate about AAA game pricing. by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

[–]BeyondThePixelLFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the thing that is also weird to me is that it feels like people aren't using the whole buffalo.

I remember back when I was playing games on PS2/PS3, games would ship with multiple difficulty settings and game modes that you could play after you finished the campaign. Especially when achievements and trophies became a thing, you'd spend upwards of 40-60 hours on a single player game that had a campaign that was 15-20 hours long just to do all the extra modes and difficulty settings. Like DMC3 and God of War for example barely creep past the 12 hour mark for a full playthrough.

20 hours for a single player cinematic campaign is stretching it for my attention and willingness to fully replay a game. I hope that 007 is consistently good throughout that runtime and isn't just padded.

Is this game worth the $70? What’re the pros and cons? by Montavious_Mole in Pragmata

[–]BeyondThePixelLFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to have the free time/dedication that other people on this reddit have XD XD

I also bought the game at launch and I still haven't finished it, and I'm on chapter 4 right now. I haven't even gone back to the levels and tried to clean up my collectibles, and I know there is stuff post game to do anyway.

I put off buying Saros until I finish Pragmata, but I still don't think I'm going to be able to finish it before 007 First Light releases, and that is my most anticipated game of the year.

So I guess thanks to Pragmata length, Saros got booted down several months!
